Guys and Ladies/Girls/Women
Have you all noticed there isn't a good female alternative for "guy"? I mean, if I am talking about a male co-worker, I would say "this guy at work...", but if I am talking about a female co-worker, I'm stumped. Woman? Lady? Girl? Gal? No, those all sound weird. Is there a good alternative I am just forgetting? These are the things I worry about.
In other news...
You guys, I finally found a leopard print scarf, and it was only $7! I really wish there was an H&M in Omaha. Although it might be trouble. I also found these polka dot shoes on my shopping adventures in Arizona. If you are wondering how many pairs of polka dot shoes a lady/woman/girl needs, the answer is at least 3 (exhibit A and B).
Scarf: H&M
Shirt: Gap
Jacket: Izod
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: Gap Outlet
Ha ha, I feel that way about the amount of red shoes I own. Polka dots are a great pattern to own several of.
ReplyDeleteI love leopard and stripes mixed together. Glad you found a leopard scarf :) Heather
Ah, these shoes are awesome! I feel behind now, I don't have any polka dot shoes. In other news, I tend to think of the girl/lady/woman issue in a glass half full way, like there are so many other words we can use relative to context. So I could say "this chick at work" although some think 'chick' is derogatory (I don't, unless I'm speaking negatively about said chick.. in which case I might just say biznitch). Hm. Yeah, I think 'chick' is my go-to. But if I want to say "hey you guys" I might just say 'guys'. hm.
ReplyDeleteLoving the red jeans on you, and those shoes are adorable! I think I usually say "girl" but that can be weird since it implies she's super young.

I LOVE the polka dot flats! I really want to do polka dots and I always see all of you pretty girls with cute polka dot shoes, pants, skirts, tops and somehow when I got to buy...I can't. I love that you paired them with red jeans, too! I used to think H&M would be the death of my budget, but now that we have one nearby, I don't shop there nearly as much as I thought I would!
