Shorts Week - Pink and Camo
This outfit is from Saturday. John and I went to dinner at my favorite BBQ place and just ate way too much food. We were heading home to probably watch Bones all night, when I suggested that we should walk around the lake instead. This is about as outdoorsy as I get. The weather was perfect, with a light breeze to keep the mosquitoes away. There were about a million geese blocking the path, which made me kind of nervous. They could attack at any moment! But we made it safely through the geese gauntlet and continued on our way. We even saw a deer! It was pretty cool.
There are some fancy houses that back up to the lake/trail area, and we got to overhear a pretty rocking birthday party with a live band. After our walk, we drove around the neighborhood looking for the party (is that creepy?), and stumbled upon the signs for valet parking. So, if you have valet parking at your house birthday party - you might be rich. Just a free tip.
Anyway, shorts week is almost over. I promise my post tomorrow will not feature stripes.
Top: Gap (similar, vaguely similar)
Shorts: Gap (similar, similar, similar)
Shoes: Converse (similar)
I really like going for walks like this. There is a lake not too far from here and sometimes Jim and I will go and walk around it for a while. The only thing is that if there are geese, there is sure to be lots of goose poo! You gotta watch out for that stuff, especially when you are wearing cute shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors and now I have another idea for my gray converse. :)
ReplyDeleteVALET? For a house party?! Damn. Do you live by Jay Z?
Ohhh I love that tee so much. Love the shorts too. It all worked together. My favorite of yours this week. My pleasure linking up again for Shorts week. =)
ReplyDeleteTake Care, Ada.
Valet parking? That will never happen for any of my parties! And yes, geese are scary! I hate it when I see them on the bike path because they hiss so much!
ReplyDeleteha, I'd be more nervous about goose poop than the geese themselves! Either way, sounds like a fun post-dinner adventure!
ReplyDeleteGot to love evening walks.
ReplyDeleteI love how we both have pink shorts on today. Also, I just realized I hadn't added the link up to my post today, oops! It's added now. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I get about as outdoorsy as you do! Funny/embarrassing/ridiculous story time: This past weekend, Kevin wanted to go on a hike with me. I've been trying to get outside of my comfort zone and try new things (AND spend quality time with Kev), so I agreed. I was not super excited about it because I kind of hate being in the wilderness, but Kevin assured me the state park we were going to would have great trails for us to hike on. We literally drove into the forest, got out of our car and were instantly swarmed by mosquitos. I had a 26-year-old tantrum (not proud of it, hahahahaha) and said I was not into it...so we drove out of the forest and back to the entrance of the park to get bug spray. I doused myself in bug spray and decided to just try and stick out the hike. The trail was like 5 miles long, and I only made it 30 minutes in before I broke down and told Kevin it was time to turn around and go home. He said, "I'm actually really surprised you made it this long! Thanks!!" Yep...I don't like being in the wilderness. [But I'll walk on a paved trail around a lake for hours! I looooove water!]
