I'm not sure maxi skirts really make sense in the fall/winter, but I really don't want to put this skirt away for the next few months, so I'm going to keep wearing it. I'll be honest, I really like this outfit, but I hate how my bun hair looks when I have to take pictures against a blank wall. I should probably buy some hairspray to deal with those wispy frizzy pieces. You read that right, I don't own any hairspray. Hashtag curlyhairproblems? Or is that just me?

This is totally cute for fall! I like it with the neutral layers and belt!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you- I don't want to put away my maxi skirts either! I'm going to try styling them with sweaters, like you did here. Thanks for the inspiration. :) I think your bun looks cute, by the way!

Totally hashtag curlyhairproblems. I have permafrizz around my face and if I ever put my hair up - same deal.
ReplyDeleteAside from that - this outfit is totally cute. I love a good long skirt in the fall/winter, so I think it can definitely be a year-round item. This outfit is very calming to look at - it's all the nice neutrals. :) Does that skirt have belt loops? Or is your belt just magically in the absolutely correct spot - because belts & I don't get along and I need to know your secrets.

Maxi skirts definitely work for fall/winter! I've seen some really cute looks with them, and you can add tights/leggings under them when the weather gets colder. I only have a small travel-size hair spray, but that's because my maid of honor got it for me for my wedding "emergency" kit. Hair spray doesn't expire, right? No, of course not.
ReplyDeleteI wear my maxi skirt all year round. You could always try your mouse to for your frizzy pieces.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in maxi skirts since having a baby four months ago. Before that I had never owned one. I was missing out. They are so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I wear maxi skirts only in the summer & spring. They certainly are perfect for colder months (especially if you wear tights with boots). Love the fall colors of this outfit.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I hope you will join me in TBT Fashion link up.

I love this look! It's the perfect way to transition a maxi skirt into fall.
ReplyDeleteI totally think they work. Last year I had a black one I wore with booties all the time. I've got a new pleated one I'm excited to try this year (again it's black but whatever). Also the way you paired this one with neutrals is just perfect for fall. Chunky scarves and booties just beg to be paired with maxi skirts!
