Kicking off the 30x30 with some neutrals. And since I couldn't think of a clever title, I am tricking you all with some Spanish. It basically just says "Number one - number one" up there, but it looks kind of fancy. Now, if I was really fancy, I'd have gone with French. But I'm not that kind of blogger.
Speaking of speaking Spanish, have I ever mentioned that I won the Sombrero Award in high school? (yes, it was literally a sombrero. yes, that might be offensive) It was given to the student most likely to still be speaking Spanish 10 years in the future. Someone should tell my Spanish teacher that he was 100% correct, if by "speaking Spanish" they meant "occasionally using Spanish in a blog post title, but really not remembering how to say anything useful." A quick search through the archives and yes, I have mentioned this before. There's even a picture. You're welcome. (I mean, "de nada!")
A great start to the 30X30, amiright?
Jacket (chaqueta): J.Crew Factory (exact)
Tee (camiseta): J.Crew Factory (exact)
Skirt (falda): Banana Republic (similar, similar)
Belt (cinturon): Gap (similar)
Sandals (zapatos): Target (exact, similar)
**I only had to cheat on belt. And there's probably a more specific term for sandals, but "shoes" will have to do. I guess I remember more than I realized! But still, not that useful.
Is it weird that I'm so excited for you to be doing this challenge (though I cannot bring myself to do it?) I had nine years of spanish classes, NINE! And I still don't really remember most of it. If you aren't using it, it's hard to keep all that extra information in your head.
ReplyDeletelove the denim jacket here, and ahh Spanish haha I'm studying French right now and man there are soo many more rules than english!
ReplyDeleteStarting off with a bang! I love this outfit - so classic and summery. And haha about the spanish award. I was actually one of the top Spanish students in my HS too... unfortunately I can't remember how to say anything :(
ReplyDeleteLoving the neutrals! Such a pretty white skirt. Happy Friday!

I wouldn't call the belt a cheat. I only remember a little Spanish myself.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I'm giggling about your Sombrero Award - I was totally the Spanish geek in school as well. I skipped a level and wound up "maxing out" of Spanish classes offered by my high school as a junior. Luckily, I am a sponge when it comes to learning languages, so I still remember tons of Spanish! And the girls I nanny go to a Spanish immersion school, so we sometimes speak in Spanish while we're together :) I'm such a nerd.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit, by the way. The colors are fantastic and that skirt fits you like a glove! You look so cute!
I wish I remembered more from my years in Spanish! When I have kids I'm really going to encourage learning another language!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! I like this outfit a lot! That skirt is really cute!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up. Also, this is my favorite outfit of yours ever. This skirt looks PERFECT on you.
ReplyDeleteHaha smartie pants. I am actually really good at learning & remembering languages. I am very fluent in 3 languages, semi-fluent in one and know a little bit of a 5th one.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, way to start off this challenge with a bang. I am in love with this first outfit. =)
I love this post. You're so witty! I kind of wish I had opportunities to use any of the languages I learned growing up. I can't get enough of stripes lately, so this outfit really is numero uno, numero uno :)
