Since I like keeping track of things in spreadsheets, I'm again using Excel to keep track of my 30x30. I have a tab where I'm keeping a count of how many times I've worn each item, and a tab where I have my full list of outfit ideas, and mark off when I wore it and when I blogged it. It's really handy! I'm considering doing this all the time, but it is a bit time consuming.
Just for fun (because I'm so fun!), I looked at my item counts from last time and compared to this time. I thought the results were interesting. Without planning it, I have almost the exact same numbers as last time:

Considering that it is summer now, instead of the dead of winter, I have shorts instead of jeans, and more skirts than layers. But I thought it was funny that I had the exact same number of tops. I guess 9 is the magic number! If you've done a 30x30, I must know if you chose 9 tops!

I did a 30X30 last summer! I chose 8 tops, 2 shorts, 2 jeans, 1 skirt, 6 dresses, 4 pieces of outerwear, and 7 pairs of shoes. I didn't own any more skirts at the time so there's only one there! It was really tough and I had a hard time keeping up with it so I haven't done another! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLast week at one of my trainings, I thought I saw a woman wearing this same blouse (but in different colors, and I don't even know if ON sold it in another color) and I was trying to be real sly to see if it had insects on it haha. I just checked, and my 30x30 had 12 tops, that's almost half my items!
ReplyDelete9 top seems like a nice number. It wouldn't look like you are wearing the same tops all the time but not so many you don't have room for other items!
ReplyDeleteHmm, 9 tops plus completer pieces like jackets and cardigans? I am about to start my Summer 30 for 30 IRL tomorrow. My first outfit should be on the blog on Sept 1st. I am changing up items last minute (always having trouble picking out the right tops especially). It figures lol.
ReplyDeleteI've never done a 30x30, but I think I would end up choosing 9 tops, too. That is crazy how similarly the counts came out without even trying!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're an Excel nerd like me. I definitely go back and compare my items for different challenges as well :) I think it's neat that your challenges have been so comparable as far as numbers go!
