Happy Leap Day! This outfit is from a couple weeks ago, when John and I went out to dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day!
This dress is one of the last things I purchased before my shopping break. It was about $5 at Old Navy. I'm not crazy about the color, but I think it is a cute style and will mix into my wardrobe well. I'm thinking about trying to dye it, but I haven't decided yet.
Dress: Old Navy

Winning!
My company had our annual Service Awards Banquet on Saturday. The theme was Hawaiian, but it was kind of freezing outside, so I just grabbed a floral top and called it good.
I got my award for 5 years! I can't believe it has been 5 years. I later realized I should have taken a picture holding my award plaque! I'm I'm still fashion blogging when I get my 10 year award, I'll try to do better.
Top: Alfani
Cardigan + Tights: Target
Skirt: Gap

Copycat
Have I mentioned that I've been unable to come up with outfit ideas lately?? I just want it to be spring so I can start wearing my warmer weather clothes! Some days, the only option is to steal an idea from someone else. Pinterest is a very good accomplice in outfit stealing. I loved this outfit when Jill wore it, and thought "Hey, I have all of those pieces!" and pinned it.
This blazer is velvet. I bought it in 2005 from Old Navy. This was right around the time I got the purple velvet blazer. I honestly don't know what I was thinking at the time. A college student just doesn't have much use for a velvet blazer, much less 2 velvet blazers. These blazers have hung in my closet for 6+ years, and I'm just now wearing them.
This one had really unfortunate bright coppery gold buttons on it, which I was planning to replace before I wore it. Again, 6 years later, I still hadn't done it. This morning, I just cut the buttons off. That's right, I'm wearing a velvet blazer with NO BUTTONS!
Blazer: Old Navy
Shirt + Jeans: Gap
Scarf: Charming Charlie
Shoes: Guess

Sprinkles
When I was a kid, my mom would sometimes make donuts for breakfast. This was always the BEST THING EVER! Just grab some Pillsbury biscuits, poke a hole in the middle, and throw them in the pot of grease. At least that is how I understand it. We'd make glaze for the frosting, and then each kid had free reign to add sprinkles.
I have no idea why, but I would always just use the orange and pink sprinkles. I never really tried any other combination. I just liked the way it looked.
I've been pretty uninspired lately when it comes to my clothing. Maybe the honeymoon with my blog is over, and since I'm not shopping, there's nothing new to infuse my closet with inspiration. I saw this shirt and cardigan this morning and thought of the orange and pink sprinkles of my childhood. If it looked good on donuts, I'm sure it will look good on a person, right??

Geometry
I felt like a walking geometry lesson in this outfit. So many shapes! I think I like it, though. I don't have much to say about it, and nothing particularly exciting happened yesterday. I did go to the coffee shop on the way to work and got a chocolate muffin for breakfast. So delicious! The teenager who works there called me "Hon." I don't think anyone should call me "Hon" unless they are:
Although, I wouldn't want her to call me "Ma'am" either, so I guess I'm just difficult.
In other news, my husband can't really be trusted to take outfit pictures. I'm incapable of making a normal face. Out of 14 pictures, the top one is the best, and I look pretty nervous! I finally gave up and just did what he told me, which mostly consisted of acting out different emotions. Who says engineers don't have interpersonal skills??

Valentine's Outfit
You might think I wore this on Valentine's Day, but you would be wrong. This is what I actually wore. I was so busy last week finishing up the ABC challenge, that I didn't get around to posting it.
I think I might have worn this exact outfit for Valentine's day last year. Since I wasn't blogging at that time, there's no evidence. If I try to pull the same shenanigans next year, I might get in trouble!
Here's a background you haven't seen before:
This is my new office! I am excited to be free from the wood paneling in my old office. I also have 2 big windows now, which I'm probably gazing out in the picture above. The only downside that I can think of is that my new windows don't open. I will definitely miss the fresh air on nice days.
Sweater: American Eagle
Shirt: NY&Co
Skirt: Express
Boots: Bare Traps via DSW
I'm linking up to a few places today, too:
