Floral Blouse
Can you tell that I have no creativity anymore? I mean, these post titles are truly inspired. Honestly, when I'm editing pictures and starting posts, I just label them with the item of clothing I'm wearing, and then I usually end up changing the title at some point. But then there's now, where I don't have much to say. I wore this outfit to go out to dinner with my 2 favorite guys. This blouse was another favorite from Bella Gravida, even though it didn't quite fit properly. It was fine for a couple hours, and I felt very pretty!

Game Night
I wore this Friday night to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday with the family. We went to the local board game cafe, which was actually pretty cool (if you are a nerd who likes board games, which we are!). We ate dinner and then played a few games. Spyfall was the first game we played and it was pretty fun, but so stressful! Basically, everyone gets a card that has a location and an occupation on it, and then one person gets a card that just says spy. The spy is supposed to figure out where the group is, before the group figures out who the spy is. So you take turns asking each other questions to figure out who might be the spy. This was not clear at all when we started playing, and I was the spy of the first round, while I was also trying to feed Mr. Baby! I was so confused!!! First, I thought everyone was in a different location, because their answers didn't make any sense. Then they were actually confused about where they were, because the card said "Carnival" which some of them thought was the one in Venice, some thought was the one in Brazil, and some thought was just a good old-fashioned American traveling circus. Needless to say, I did not figure out where they were. But anyway, it was a pretty fun game. You have to be specific enough in your questions and answers to not give away your location, but to make sure the other non-spies know you aren't the spy.
Anyway, other than the stress of being a clueless spy, it was a pretty fun night!

Mom Clothes
I pretty much love my new lifestyle, where I just hang out with my baby all day and don't go to work. People ask if I miss my job, and I keep expecting to, but really, I haven't missed it so far. I do miss some of my co-workers and clients, but I can keep up with most of them via email or social media, and have been meeting some of them for lunch, which is fun.
Most days, I just don't know what to wear. I don't think I'm the type of lady who will start wearing yoga pants all the time, but my previous style of skirts and dresses every day isn't all that functional anymore. I think it will get easier as the weather cools down, because I have approximately 4 million cardigans. Layering always adds some interest. But then I remember that my pants/jeans selection is pretty non-existent right now. So fall/winter might get a little interesting.
Anyway, I wore this the other day when it was a bit cooler. We just went over to my friend's house to hang out with her and her baby. It's pretty fun to see them! One of these days, the babies will actually notice each other, and then we are in trouble.

So Cliché
I'm pretty much a walking cliché right now. You'll find me waddling around with swollen ankles, probably eating ice cream. So why not be even more basic and stand by this sign? Seriously though, I'm pretty grateful for the close parking right now! More stores need to get on that (I'm looking at you, Target).
Anyway, halfway through April and I'm still hanging on with the Top 10 Remix Challenge. We will see how long I can last. Go check out Sarah's blog to see how everyone else is doing!

Copycat Orange and Green
This outfit was 100% inspired by this pin. I think the original version looks a little bit better with a mostly white top that has orange dots on it. My mostly orange top with the green sweater just made me feel a little bit too much like a Miami fan. Isn't that annoying how perfectly good color combinations are ruined by team colors?

Get a Job
On Friday, Brynn shared 4 jobs she has had over the years. I thought it was fun to read, so I decided to steal it. Because that's what blogging is all about! So here are the jobs I had before I graduated from college and got a real job:
- Babysitting - one summer (I think I was 10 or 11), I babysat my cousin all day every day. When I think about this now, it seems crazy. I don't think my nieces who are 10 even stay home by themselves, let alone taking care of a toddler. We watched The Lion King about 4000 times. And I'm pretty sure I got paid $25 per week. So, it wasn't a high-paying job, but at the end of the summer, I was able to buy myself a boombox (with a CD player) and a Shania Twain CD. At the time, it seemed like a fortune. I babysat a handful of times after that, but I wasn't really the babysitting type.
- Mowing Lawns - my brother started a lawn-mowing business and I was his employee. Again, I don't think I got paid enough for my efforts, but we had fun, and I got a pretty great farmer's tan. And a lot of girls I knew didn't even know how to start a mower, so I am glad I have that particular skill, even if I haven't used it in many years.
- Law Firm Runner - in high school, I got my first "real" job, where I actually got a paycheck. One of my friends had been working for her dad's law firm as a runner, and she quit to do something else, so they hired me. This was when I thought I wanted to go to law school someday. I quickly changed my mind. But it was a pretty awesome job. Filing was super easy, if at times boring. I loved running errands around downtown, and going to the different courthouses. Plus some of the other runners were cute boys, which was a nice bonus to a teenage girl.
- Receptionist - when I moved to Indiana, I worked for a gastroenterology office as a receptionist. Here's the thing, I hated answering the phones, so this was not an ideal job for me. Plus patients would call with extremely gross complaints, when they really should have just asked to talk to the nurse. And I had to file the pictures from the colonoscopies, which you can't do without looking at the pictures. The best part of this job was that we worked 9 hour days, and then closed at noon on Fridays.
- Target - another summer in Indiana, I ended up working at the Target. It was weird, but pretty easy. I got very tired of wearing red and khaki. Whenever I am back in Indy at that Target, I sometimes see people who I was friends with for 3 months, and I'm sure they don't remember me, but I feel awkward like I should say hi.
- Hotel Gift Shop - during college, I got hired at a local Husker gear store. I didn't realize the owner also ran the gift shop at a hotel, which was where I mostly worked. Again, not a high-paying job, but it was perfect during college. I usually worked the closing shift, from about 4-10, and it was usually really slow, so I could do homework or just watch TV or read a book. The worst part was on Husker football game days, because we ALL had to work ALL day, but he let us leave for the game if we had tickets. So I'd wake up at like 5am, work until game time, run to the stadium where my friends were hopefully saving me a seat, and then a few minutes before the game was over, I'd run back to the store and work until 10pm or so. In hindsight, I'm not sure how legal that was, because we didn't get breaks other than for the game. Anyway, the Huskers were pretty terrible those years, so I started going back to my apartment during the game to take a nap and eat something.
So there you have it - my random jobs over the years. The law firm was probably my favorite. What was your favorite part-time job?

Wooden Accessories
Just so you know, I've been wearing these sunglasses a lot, and I still like them! And they really seemed perfect with my wooden necklace and this outfit. I just need more wooden accessories, I guess! Or maybe one necklace and one pair of sunglasses is a reasonable amount for my "not very earthy" style.
And just a little weekend review - Saturday was another busy day getting stuff done around the house. Then John's parents came over and the guys painted in the baby's room. I'm so excited to see it coming together! And then it snowed all day Saturday and into Sunday morning, so church was canceled, and we just stayed in on Sunday. The snow is so pretty, but I'm not excited to go outside any time soon (too bad I have to work today!) And since my posts are about 2 weeks behind reality, I'm looking back fondly on the day when I could stand out on the deck in just a cardigan and take pictures!

Snakeskin-ish
If I happened to meet an actual snake, I'd probably try to flee the premises as quickly as possible. But snakeskin print on clothing, I'm good with that. I've worn this skirt twice without taking pictures. I tend to grab it when I'm in a hurry, because it's comfortable and looks like I tried a bit. I'd highly recommend getting a stretchy pencil skirt in a fun black and white pattern. Or three. I happen to love my striped and polka dot options, as well as this new snakey print.
In other news, I'm hopping on a plane after work today and heading to Indiana to see my family. My dad's side is having a big family reunion starting Sunday, so I'm going early to hang out with my more immediate family before everyone else arrives. I'm sure I'll be instagramming obnoxious selfies with my nieces over the next few days. You're welcome.

Really Random Thoughts
So it's Wednesday, huh? If everything has gone according to plan, I'll be sleeping in this morning and then flying home from St. Louis in the afternoon. I've been working nonstop the last 3 days at my company conference. As I write this, my guess is that I've had a great time and am completely exhausted.
Here's an outfit from last week. As I edited photos, I noticed my pocket is all goofy, but it's too late to go back. You probably wouldn't have noticed, but I had to mention it, so if you notice, you'll know that I know.
It's almost time for another theme week! I'm joining forces with Heidi next week to wear dresses for 5 posts in a row! This is another theme I should probably just do a whole month of. Sorry for the dangling preposition. I'd feel pretentious if I said "This is another theme for which I should probably do a whole month." And sometimes grammar takes a backseat to icky feelings. I also like to sometimes split infinitives. So now you know all my dark secrets.
Anyway, DRESS WEEK starts on June 16th! Join us for one day or all days or somewhere in between! Or zero days if you aren't into dresses.
**Disclaimer - I wrote this after a 15+ hour workday, so I'm a little loopy.

Navy Leopard Dress Remix
I've had this dress for just over 2 years. It's one of those random impulse buys that ended up being a super versatile and frequently-worn item. The navy/white color means it plays well with everything else in my closet. The leopard pattern means it is fun enough that I like to wear it. It almost feels like cheating to make a remix collage, because I feel like I just wear it with different colored cardigans!

In completely unrelated news, it's time for another theme week! Join me and Laura next week (May 12th-16th) as we share nautical outfits! We're talking anchors, sailboats, starfish! Or just Breton stripes will work, too! You can link up any time during the week (or multiple days, if you want). If you need some inspiration, check out this timely post from Whitney!
