Hemlock & Local Love & Third Thursday

There's a lot going on today!  For starters, this is my 700th post.  I don't even know what to say about that.  When I started this blog, I wasn't sure how long I'd stick with it, but apparently the answer is "a long time."

It's day 4 of the Pantone challenge with Heidi and Marissa, which means HEMLOCK.  Which means POISON!  I mean, mint colored.  It was a good excuse to debut my mint polka dot popover from my shopping spree last week.  Gap Outlet knows my weaknesses!

It's also the Third Thursday of the month, so I'm linking up with Bri for the Pinspired theme.  I knew I wanted to wear this top, so I perused my Pinterest board for mint and polka dot inspiration.  and I found the perfect thing:  Laura's mint & polka dot & cobalt outfit

And finally, I'm still working my way through Sarah's April Looking Lucky Style Challenge, so I added this necklace from a local boutique (that I can't remember the name of - terrible!) for the LOCAL LOVE entry.  I was admiring it several years ago, and then my sneaky mother-in-law bought it without me noticing and surprised me on my birthday that year.  So tricky.

Necklace: Gift
Cardigan: Old Navy
Top & Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Payless

  3. Totally didn't realize it had fun little dots on it until I saw the close up. What a happy surprise for my aging eyes. And these jeans look awesome on you by the way.

  4. That necklace is really perfect with the mint polka dots in the top! Ummm, I think you should pair this with your adorable floral shoes next time (I know, I'm too obsessed with someone else's shoes).

  5. You covered a lot of bases with this outfit! That polka dot top is cute! Gap Outlet knows all my weaknesses too. Though I noticed recently that they've renamed themselves Gap Factory Store and I feel like that is kinda lame.

  7. That top is wicked cute - I love the little polka dots! It looks great with the cobalt cardigan as well. And what a fun necklace! One thing that I love about shopping locally is that I can find unique pieces :)

  8. 700?! Wow! Congrats and way to stick with it! I can't believe you have such great luck at Gap Outlet-- ours must just be tiny, because I can't manage to find much other than pajamas, hoodies, workout gear, and pants. (Not that there's anything wrong with these things, but they're just not fun like this top is!)

  10. You did what I so often do - find a piece I know I want to wear, and then look for a pin that has that element - it helps me put the rest of the outfit together. Loving those dots :)
