Leopard Cardigan

It's been a long week back in the real world.  I'm ready for another vacation, that's for sure!  Or at least I'm ready for the weekend to get caught up on laundry and like, unpack and stuff.  Here's some free advice - when you go on vacation, try not to get home late on Sunday evening.  Because you might be disoriented all week, but you will make time for important stuff like blogging.  But you might not make it to the grocery store.  Hypothetically, of course.

Anyway, a leopard print cardigan has been on my wishlist for over a year.  A few weeks before I went to Minnesota, I started looking at the H&M website, and I saw this one (now it's only $7!).  I almost ordered it, but decided to wait, because H&M sizing can be all over the place.  I was pretty excited when it was actually in the store and fit properly!

April Showers

Let's talk about the weather, okay?  It is mid-April and last week we experienced all of the seasons.  Monday was warm and beautiful, and I wore this.  Rumor has it that over the weekend, we even got up into the 70s, but I was gallivanting around Arizona, so I can't really confirm those allegations.  Tuesday started out nice, but got significantly colder as the day progressed, and then we had a crazy hail storm that night.  It rained all day Wednesday, and then snowed on Thursday, and I'm just not really sure how to dress myself when there is so much variability in the weather!  I'm falling back on my jeans almost every day.

On the rainy Wednesday, I started with the thought that I should wear my rain boots.  Then I worked from there.  Add my giraffe umbrella and I was ready to go!  Sadly, the giraffe umbrella is now broken.  Don't worry, I have another one!  (I just have to find it...)

Chantilly Lace!?

When I heard the trend of the month was lace, I thought I would have to go shopping, because I couldn't think of anything lace in my wardrobe.  I had big plans to search Forever 21, because I have seen some cute lace tops on their website.  Then I remembered I had a giftcard to Loft, so I stopped by after work on Friday and completely struck out.  Francesca's was right next to Loft, so I popped in there real quick, and also didn't buy anything.  BUT they had a whole section of the store with coral and mint on display, and I remembered that I do, in fact, have a coral lace top, and I should probably wear it with my mint jeans.  Problem solved!

This also marks my first time taking pictures in public with my tripod and timer.  I've convinced John to play photographer a few times when we were out at dinner or something, but this was a whole different ball game!  I went straight to the gym after work, and didn't want to take photos in my office, so I threw my tripod in the car and set it up in the gym parking lot.  I did get some awkward stares from people, but no one stopped and asked me what I was doing, at least!

A Case of the Mondays

Don't forget to enter my giveaway!  It's open for a few more days!

These are from last Monday.  It was the type of Monday that gives Mondays a bad name.  First my alarm clock didn't go off, so I was running late from the start.  Then I realized it was raining and kind of cool outside, so my quick and easy summer outfits were not an option.  I decided I would wear the boots that my sister gave me this summer.  They were on super sale at Gap, and they are really cute.  So, I got all ready and put the boots on just before I was going to run out the door.  I quickly learned why the boots were so cheap:  they were super uncomfortable!  There was no way I could wear them all day.  Unfortunately, I didn't have any other shoes that would look good and be ok for the rainy day.  So, I started from scratch on my outfit.  I was actually kind of proud of myself for how quickly I got ready again.

Anyway, I was about to leave and I could NOT find my car keys.  My keys are always in my purse, but I couldn't find them anywhere.  So I searched the whole house and several minutes later, I found my keys on the kitchen counter, underneath a grocery bag.

By that time, I had 5 minutes before a client call, so I emailed them to see if we could move it back 15 minutes.  I got to work and was all ready for my call when my computer told me it was going to restart in 15 minutes, and it didn't give me the usual option to postpone the restart.  The client called, and I was just watching the clock count down to the restart.  I was hoping the call was short, and thank goodness, it was!

The rest of the day was pretty average, but the first hour was just ridiculous.  I was ready to give up and go back to bed.  Here's hoping this Monday is better!
