All That Shimmers
You can't really tell, but this shirt is all golden shimmery. I bought it back in January, and haven't worn it at all so far. Oops! But now that I'm running out of things that fit over my giant belly, this tee might get a little more action in the next (plus or minus) 6 weeks.
Can anyone even believe it is almost April? Or am I the only one in denial that the year is 1/4 over?

Polka Dot Punk Rock
My nieces are getting older, and getting more and more opinions, especially about fashion. Over Thanksgiving, one of the 10 year olds had some objections to my holey jeans. I think her exact words were "Aunt Andi, you might want to lay off the punk rocker vibe now that you're going to be a mother." She was shocked when I told her these are actually jeans specifically designed for pregnant women. The next day, I wore normal jeans, and she approved.
For this outfit, I think the excessively preppy polka dots on top really help balance the rock and roll vibe of my maternity jeans. It's all about balance, folks!

Green Week - Polka Dot Cardigan
Get excited! It's St. Patrick's Day and the first day of GREEN WEEK! My husband pointed out that I'm not Catholic, so I should really be wearing orange, but green is prettier, and I don't know that I have 5 orange things to wear, so here we are.
This outfit wasn't originally supposed to include green. My plan was to style my new gray/black dress like this outfit (one of my favorite's from Franish recently). I was going to wear my black cardigan and boots. Then I realized I don't really have a similar scarf, and it's close enough to spring that I decided to bust out the floral. Then I couldn't find my black cardigan, and thought the green in the scarf would go well with my green polka dot cardigan. Then I checked the weather and realized it wasn't going to be snowy or super freezing, so I went with wedges instead of boots. So the actual outfit isn't really anything like the inspiration, but that's how it goes sometimes! Maybe I'll get a chunky knit scarf and try copying Fran again in the fall.

Polka Dot Week - Cardigan and LINK-UP!
| Cardigan: Target Tank & Belt: Gap Shorts: J.Crew factory Sandals: Payless |
This is from last Saturday, when John and I went out to dinner. It was very hot outside, but I knew it would be chilly in the restaurant, so I figured shorts and a sweater were a good compromise. I had this outfit in my mind, but wasn't sure how it would translate to real life. I was nervous at first (so much white!), but really like how it turned out. I just wish these shorts didn't get so wrinkly!
Now for the link-up! This is my first time running one of these, so please let me know if there are any issues.
I'm also linking up with Favorite Fashion Friday and Casual Friday.

Happy Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day! I'm very happy to have an extra day in the weekend. I think a 4 day work week would be ideal, even if it involved 10-hour days. Seriously, America, let's get on that!
This outfit is from Friday. I wore it to work, and then traded my shoes for flip flops to wander around the mall and do a little shopping. Then John and I went to see the new Star Trek movie. It was pretty good! During the movie, I noticed a thread hanging off my skirt. Since I can't leave things alone, I pulled on it and pulled on it and my skirt is no longer hemmed. Oops. It should be a pretty easy fix, at least!
I'm joining Whitney and Heidi for their "We Love Target" link-up this week. Today's theme is tops. This link-up will be pretty easy for me, because I frequently end up on the clothing side of Target when I am supposed to be buying groceries. If you have the same problem, you should link up, too!

March Budget Recap
- J.Crew Factory is sneaky with their promo code emails, and I really needed some new denim shorts for this summer
- Gap got me with Friends and Family days
- Grocery shopping at Target is dangerous
Technically, a few of these items were purchased at the end of February (after I wrote that budget recap), but I didn't feel like updating that post, so I'm just going to detail it here. I panicked a couple days before vacation and bought a few more summery pieces for the trip.
February Additions (this takes February from $18 to $46):
- Walmart Tank Tops: $5
- Walmart Shorts: $3
- Merona Swim Coverup: $20
- J.Crew Denim Shorts: $31 (originally $58.50)
- J.Crew Corsage Tee: $9 (originally 39.50)
- Gap Cardigan (similar): $16 (originally $45)
- Xhileration Ruffle Dress (different colors): $7.50 (originally $25)
- Merona Floral Tank: $10 (originally $15)
Prabal Gurung Sandals: $15 (originally $30)- still deciding whether or not to keep these! What do you all think? (UPDATE: I returned these)- Merona Cardigan: $11.50 (originally $23)
March total: $100 (originally $236)
(Updated Total: $85 (originally $206)
(Updated Total: $85 (originally $206)
So I basically hit my exact monthly budget in January and March, and only spent about half in February. This means I have about $50 extra rolling into April. I also cashed out at the consignment shop recently, which gets added into the clothing fund.
