On Sunday evening (against my better judgment), I ventured out of the house to go see Memphis. I was sort of miserable, and I'm worried that I prolonged my illness by foolishly being out in the frigid air, but it was SO worth it! The cast was fabulous, the singing and dancing was very impressive, and the songs were powerful. I've been listening to youtube versions for the last few days! The plot is "loosely based" on a true story, but I wish it had had a happier ending. Spoiler alert, but I just wanted them to get married! I know that wouldn't be realistic, but still.
