This is an outfit that I like more in pictures than in person. It's possible that I just felt awkward because my shoe broke, so I was hobbling around all day. It's hard to feel pretty when you are focused on not falling off of a high wedge that has recently been divorced from the very useful ankle strap. Also, this scarf is my very first purchase from Forever 21. I don't know how the rest of you find such awesome stuff there!
Enough about that! It's Literary Junkies day, so here are the questions for this month:
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it.
- Diamond in the Rough by Shawn Colvin. You may recognize her as a one-hit wonder of the 90s, with "Sunny Came Home." This book is a memoir about her life. It's just okay. I have been reading it on and off for several weeks, and it's not a very long book. I am just not super interested and would rather pick up my other books.
2) Summer is just ahead and my fav thing to fantasize is laying in a
hammock with a good book. What are your top 3 fav "summer" reads?
- I don't really differentiate "summer" reads from any other good book, so I'll just list my favorite books that I've read this year so far: The Silver Linings Playbook, The Fault in Our Stars, Tim Gunn's Fashion Bible.
3) What are your top 3 summer "to-reads"?
- I just read the first Harry Potter book, so I'm hoping to read the rest of those in the next few months.
- I also have The Great Gatsby on my list. I hated it when I had to read it in high school, but I feel like I should give it another chance. I want to read it before I see the movie, so hopefully I'll get to it in the next couple weeks.
- Scrabble is a favorite board game in my family, so when I heard about Word Freak, I immediately put it on hold at the library. This will probably trump HP and GG as my next book to read.
4) What book do you wish they'd make it a movie of?
- Movies based on books are usually such a disappointment, so I don't know about this one! I think Attachments would be a really great romantic comedy, but I'm not sure I would trust Hollywood to get it right.
5) Has your favorite author published a book lately or going to publish a book soon? Tell us about it.
Have you read any good books lately? Anything I should add to my list for this summer?
Scarf: Forever21
Dress: Old Navy
Belt: Charming Charlie
I like the purple belt with the tan dress. That's a really nice combo. The scarf pulls it all in.
ReplyDeleteI have been so busy I haven't been able to read. The last good book I read was by Lisa Scottoline called Come Home. In the summer I tend to lean towards more "fluff" stuff and the winter I read more serious stuff. I can't concentrate in the summer, lol! Heather
I did not know that Tim Gunn had put out another book, I'm going to have to check that one out :)

Such a bummer about the shoe, I hate when I like an outfit in person but hate it in pictures. So annoying. I plan to read the whole Harry Potter series this summer, I read the first three years ago then gave up. This summer, I'm gonna do it!

Did you love The Fault in our Stars? So sad!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! Sucks about the shoe! And The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books (even loved it in high school). ;)
ReplyDeleteLoving your outfit, especially the scarf - I'm such a sucker for scarves! Sorry about your shoe, though!
ReplyDeleteSilver Linings Playbook is next up for me - I hope I'll like it! And I just finished The Great Gatsby.. didn't like that one so much, though. Bummer. I think I'll like the movie though - can't go wrong with Leo and Baz Luhrmann!

This is a very pretty outfit. It's such a bummer when you feel great in an outfit but then it photographs badly, but when the opposite happens, I think it's definitely a bit of an ego boost. That even if you didn't feel comfortable with your outfit, everyone else probably thought it was amazing haha! The Fault in Our Stars is on me "to read" list too!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Great Gatsby. I figure if I don't HAVE to read it, I might love it! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up! You look great!
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is so pretty!! You are beautiful! xo
ReplyDeleteThe Great Gatsby is beauty, and sadness, made words. A lot of people seem not to like it. Open your heart and don't have any expectations. Work Freak however, is just plain awesome! A.We.Some!!! You've made me want to read it again.
ReplyDeleteI tried THe Great Gatsby but couldn't make it past page 4. Hopefully seeing the movie will inspire me to pick it up again! I love Forever 21 but you have to have time to search!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the Harry Potter Series, the first 3 were ok but the last ones made it awesome!
