Another Floral Scarf Look
Well, I should have just waited and done a Threefer Thursday with this scarf, because I wore it again. This time I paired it with my neglected neon pink and gray striped sweater (not to be confused with my different but the same pink and gray striped sweater). I really like both of these sweaters, but I neglect both of them, and they are very similar, but I can't decide which one I like better, so I keep both of them. For now, I'm probably just putting all my sweaters in storage, and I will see what works for me next winter. Closet downsizing has been tricky during pregnancy, since I don't know what clothes will fit my new body, and what styles will make sense with my new lifestyle!
Add this to the list of outfits where I don't look pregnant from the front!

Twofer Tuesday - Floral Scarf
I've somehow gotten way behind on outfit posts again, which is why I'm sneaking in some two-fer posts. I tend to neglect this scarf for 6 months at a time, so I went crazy and wore it a few times in a row recently. The jeans outfit was for work on a Friday, the dress was for church on Sunday. And I actually wore the scarf again to work a few days later, but "Threefer Thursday" doesn't have the same ring to it, so I'll leave that outfit for another day.
Here's your free and very obvious fashion tip for the day - a bright floral scarf is a good way to pretend it is spring when it it still super freezing outside. (and I should note that this week is all of a sudden beautifully springy! So I can wear actual spring clothes instead of just brightly colored winter clothes).

This is another example of an outfit that started out in my head a certain way and then ended up completely different. It all started because Kate commented on this post that I should try wearing that blue/orange-ish skirt with something purple. I immediately thought of this scarf with orange and purple on it. It didn't look quite right with this tee and scarf, so I added the gray cardigan for some neutral hoping the neutral would subdue the situation. I still felt weird, so I just grabbed my black skirt and called it a day.
I still think purple is an idea I need to figure out with that other skirt. I'll just have to try again some other day!

Floral Week - Scarf
Floral Week is an excellent excuse to re-introduce some of my items that have been neglected over the summer - like this pretty scarf. I should confess that I actually bought this scarf intending it to be a gift, and then I realized that the recipient probably wouldn't like it. She never wears scarves, and I had no idea if she liked orange and/or purple. Since it's from F21, I couldn't just return it, so I kept it. And I think it's gorgeous, so I think that's okay. And I bought my friend a way better present that I think she appreciated much more.
Linkup info after the jump! Remember, you can link up every day if you want! This is also my floral entry for Sarah's April Looking Lucky Style Challenge.

Acai
I didn't mean to skip yesterday, but I was pretty busy being as lazy as possible all day, and I wasn't super excited about my "carafe" outfit. Maybe I'll post it next week some time as an example of a not so awesome outfit. I'm jumping back in for Acai, which I was pronouncing wrong for a couple years, but apparently it is purplish, so I'm wearing my color blocked purple dress in the hope that one of them is the appropriate hue. Go check out the rest of the Pantone Inspired Challenge with Marissa and Heidi.
In other news, I'm 29 now! For the first time. The problem with turning 29 is that older people always joke on their birthday that they are turning 29. So I have to explain that I'm REALLY turning 29. I'll be celebrating my birthday as much as possible over the weekend, so I'll probably do a summary post next week some time. For now, I'll just say I had a really nice day. I took off work, got a manicure/pedicure, and went out to dinner at my favorite restaurant with my favorite guy. Then I went to the mall for a bit and felt kind of old at Forever 21, and took refuge at The Limited where I found 2 items from my Wardrobe Wish List. Pretty great day!

Random Thoughts for Monday
Here are just a few random thoughts for your Monday:
- Last week, I saw a car with eyelashes. Have you heard of these? I don't even know what to say. If you have carlashes, I will probably be judging you.
- If my hair looks extra lustrous to you, it's because I ran out of my regular conditioner, so I've been using the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Hair Mask. It says you just need a small amount on a weekly basis to get lustrous hair, but I've been using a large amount on a daily basis and it seems to be working quite well.
- A very large spider has been lurking above the door from our garage into our house. Yesterday afternoon, he was hovering directly over my head when I got out of the car. I called in reinforcements (husband), and the spider won't be bothering me anymore.
- Yesterday, I had my first Salted Caramel Mocha Creme Frappuccino of the season! Delicious!
- This outfit is from Sunday. After church, we went out for lunch downtown. I thought we should take pictures with a cool background, but I didn't have my camera, and there were lots of hobos around, so we just went home. Maybe next time!
- These shoes are falling apart. I need to find some replacements soon!
- My mom is coming to visit on Friday! I'm pretty excited to hang out with her this weekend!
I hope you all have a lovely week!

Literary Link-Up
This is an outfit that I like more in pictures than in person. It's possible that I just felt awkward because my shoe broke, so I was hobbling around all day. It's hard to feel pretty when you are focused on not falling off of a high wedge that has recently been divorced from the very useful ankle strap. Also, this scarf is my very first purchase from Forever 21. I don't know how the rest of you find such awesome stuff there!
Enough about that! It's Literary Junkies day, so here are the questions for this month:
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it.
- Diamond in the Rough by Shawn Colvin. You may recognize her as a one-hit wonder of the 90s, with "Sunny Came Home." This book is a memoir about her life. It's just okay. I have been reading it on and off for several weeks, and it's not a very long book. I am just not super interested and would rather pick up my other books.
2) Summer is just ahead and my fav thing to fantasize is laying in a
hammock with a good book. What are your top 3 fav "summer" reads?
- I don't really differentiate "summer" reads from any other good book, so I'll just list my favorite books that I've read this year so far: The Silver Linings Playbook, The Fault in Our Stars, Tim Gunn's Fashion Bible.
3) What are your top 3 summer "to-reads"?
- I just read the first Harry Potter book, so I'm hoping to read the rest of those in the next few months.
- I also have The Great Gatsby on my list. I hated it when I had to read it in high school, but I feel like I should give it another chance. I want to read it before I see the movie, so hopefully I'll get to it in the next couple weeks.
- Scrabble is a favorite board game in my family, so when I heard about Word Freak, I immediately put it on hold at the library. This will probably trump HP and GG as my next book to read.
4) What book do you wish they'd make it a movie of?
- Movies based on books are usually such a disappointment, so I don't know about this one! I think Attachments would be a really great romantic comedy, but I'm not sure I would trust Hollywood to get it right.
5) Has your favorite author published a book lately or going to publish a book soon? Tell us about it.
Have you read any good books lately? Anything I should add to my list for this summer?
