Getting Old
Most of the time, I'm not too worried about getting older. I mean, I'm on my last few months as a 20-something, but 30 seems okay. Every once in awhile though, something happens that makes me feel really old. One of these things happened yesterday at the eye doctor. My previous eye doctor moved away, so I got to see the new guy who replaced her at the office. He was great, but I think he was younger than me. I mean, it's possible that he just looks young. Anyway, if he is in fact younger than me, I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've been older than a medical provider. It feels kind of weird. But hey, my eyes haven't gotten worse, so that's something to be happy about!
At least I still wear color combinations that a Kindergartener would approve.

yay for your eye not changing. Your outfit is so cute and spring like.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I haven't had that experience with being older than a medical provider yet, but I am sure it is just around the corner! I turn 30 soon too and I (so far) am ok with it. I am pretty proud of where my life is. Anyway, love that skirt and top! I have been looking for a bright yellow cardigan like that!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, I'm older than my OB-GYN! She's fantastic! But the first time I had an appointment with her, I was floored by how young she looked! I recently turned 30, and to encourage myself to be more excited about it, I threw a party that ended up rivaling how much fun I had at my wedding! You could always give that a try :)
ReplyDeleteOoh yeah, this sort of thing has started happening to me too. It feels weird! Earlier this school year, there were bullying presentations as part of a state government initiative and they were being presented by lawyers in our classrooms. I am FOR SURE that the lawyer who gave the presentation was much younger than me. It made me feel old. I love this outfit, so colorful and fun for spring!
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience where I went to Target recently and they hired a bunch of new employees, and most of them seem like babies to me. Okay, maybe just middle schoolers. But that's more or less the same thing. I think the green and yellow look fun and springy together, and perfect for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I have wondered when this would happen to me! I have a few friends that are doctors already and that just freaks me out. 30 seemed so old to me when I was a kid, but now that it so close, I realize how young it is. However, 40 DOES seem old so I am a little terrified of that!
ReplyDeleteHahaha loved the kindergardener comment. I approve very much, too. I have those same flats by Payless and love them - so cute and comfy.
ReplyDeleteI used to have this whole plan laid out for myself...I'd get married at 25, and have two kids by the time I was 30 (30 felt so OLD to me to be having kids, haha). Well...I got married at 22 and I'm currently 26 with no kids in sight, and I'm fine with it. If we do ever choose to have a child, I'm guessing it won't be until we're close to 35ish, which is fine by me! Isn't it interesting how our concept of age/aging changes as we get older??
ReplyDeleteAlso, this outfit is one of my favorites of yours recently. I loooove that top! And I really, really like the way you did your hair here with the sides pulled back!
