I love summer. I don't think I'm genetically engineered to thrive in warm weather (my family tends to be fair-skinned and a tad sweaty), but I hate to be cold all winter long, so summer is my favorite. There are just a few problems.
Spring/Summer in Nebraska means tornado season. It seems that most people who grow up in Tornado Alley develop some immunity to tornado warnings and hang out on the front porch looking for storms. Despite spending most of my life in Kansas, I am not one of these people. You'll find me cowering in the basement.
It's finally light in the evenings, so I can take outfit pictures when I get home (yay!), but my neighbor is ALWAYS doing yard work. Like every day. I'm terrified he will ask me what I'm doing, so I have to be stealthy. After sneaking outside to take pics, I heard his mower getting louder, so I rushed back inside. Then I realized that if his wife was in her kitchen, she probably saw me. They have to think I'm a total weirdo. They may be right.

Tell your neighbor! I'll vouch that you're a pretty big deal on the internets. :) I'm not made for summer either. I run so hot that its just miserable.
ReplyDeleteI really like the color combo you have going on...I think it's unexpected but really pretty. Also, I might spend my entire spring cowering in the basement if I lived in tornado alley!
ReplyDeleteSummer is my favorite season to. My neighbor probably think I'm a werido two. They have caught me a few time taking pictures.
ReplyDeleteI've been getting frustrated with the silly TV news stations interrupting my programs! The storms aren't even in my area!
ReplyDeleteHaha I have the same problem with my neighbors! That's why my photos are from our front yard today! I actually said to Jim, "I wish they would stop being such hardworkers, I need to take blog photos." #bloggerprobs
ReplyDeleteok who cares if your neighbor sees you if your outfit is so dang cute?! haha I have gotten better about taking pictures in public but it still makes me a little nervous/awkward. my co-worker Kelley sometimes takes pictures for me right outside our office and I am TERRIFIED someone in a meeting or something will see me!
ReplyDeletebut seriously- love this whole outfit. one of my favorites of yours. every piece of it! but I especially need a pair of blue heels like this. happy Summer to you Andi!
♥ perfectly Priya
I am so glad our yard is surrounded by trees! But when I take outfit pics in the front yard I kind of wonder the same things! At least you looked really cute with your skirt and belt!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and girly here and those pumps from Old Navy WOW!! Cobalt Pumps have been on my must-buy list for a while now. Also I think bow belts are adorable, especially for Summer. I am glad I added some this Spring.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too hate nosy neighbors. I unfortunately live in a very busy neighborhood/street/large city where taking outdoor pictures doesn't work right now.
I love your skirt, it's a really pretty color! In showing a girlfriend of mine someone else's fashion blog she said, "What do her neighbors think?" when she saw that photos were taken in her yard. The question kind of took me off guard. I'm so used to the concept of posing for outfit pictures (even before I started my blog) that my response was "That she's taking photos for a blog". Then I realized, I guess most people don't think like that! Anyway, rock your outfits and strut your stuff when you're taking your photos! Who cares what anyone who sees you thinks! lol!
ReplyDeletei love this skirt, andi! it's so pretty and looks perfect for summer. i don't know how bloggers take pictures in public, even in their yards! if i ever live somewhere where i have a yard and was caught taking pictures out there, i don't know what excuse i would make... "my mom gave me this top/skirt and i wanted to take a picture to show her how it looks" ?? haha
