Nesting and Bump Thoughts

I really hate the term "nesting," because I am not a bird.  But I suppose the instinct has kicked in, because I have been feeling super energized to get things ready for the baby's arrival.  John spent most of Saturday getting things moved out of the nursery so we can paint soon.  I was working on painting an old dresser and night stand for the nursery.  It's pretty exciting to get some things checked off my list!

Recently, one of my co-workers accused me of not looking pregnant at all.  I have to confess, I think I am usually dressing in a way that downplays the bump.  But I am definitely looking pregnant these days.  I've found that actual maternity clothes really accentuate the bump, like this top from Loft.  Sometimes I'm happier to wear normal clothes and just look chubby, but it's nice to look actually pregnant sometimes, too.  And I suspect I am running out of days where I can get away with normal clothes, so I should probably get used to looking pregnant.  And start practicing my ninja skills for when people try to touch me.  No.  Just don't do it.

  1. This top is so cute! Love it with the pop of blue. And when the belly's at this stage (beyond the "hmmm, so I look like I just ate too much" point and before the "going to explode point" - ha), I think it's really fun to accentuate it. It's such a short period of time you'll have this, so why not have a little fun dressing it :)

  2. Okay, but this outfit is too cute! I love that top. Give those maternity clothes a chance! (Just kidding, you'll probably get super sick of them soon when they are your only option.)

  3. It's fun when your bump actually starts to look like a bump instead of a food baby! That top is adorable on you!

  4. I was actually going to comment on your not looking pregnant, but I wasn't sure if that would come off as offensive, so I restrained to be safe. You never want to upset a pregnant lady! ha. But that is a really pretty top. It's kind of weird to think that you have a ninja under that floral print. Or a celery stalk? Or a kumquat? hahaha hilarious, I know

  5. Hahahaha, I laughed out loud when I read that first sentence! You crack me up, friend. I looove the top you're wearing here. The print is so pretty and it highlights that adorable bump you've got!!

  6. You are all bump, and so dang cute. I love the cobalt skirt. I'd say it's unexpected, but you're a smart girl who knows how well black, white, and cobalt play together. I hate shaking hands with people; I can't even imagine people touching the bump without permission. What if you said, "how about you touch my fist bump instead of my baby bump? Okay? Okay."
