Well, I'm at the point where I really shouldn't be buying maternity clothes unless I am desperate, because I only have a few months left. But I'm also at the point where some of my earlier maternity items aren't fitting as well, so I took the plunge on a few things.
Here's the breakdown of what I bought (and then more thoughts below):
Target
Leopard print Ona flats: $8
Maternity White tee: $5
Old Navy Maternity
skinny jeans: $28
black and gray leggings: $18
black tee: $6
Loft Maternity (Note - I just split the shipping costs and added half to each item)
Gray quilted dress: $16
Chambray popover: $12
Christopher & Banks
Red Scarf: gift
Total Spent: $93
Gift Money used: $70
Total out of budget: $23
Ever since I ordered a few things from Loft in January, I have had my eye on the Chambray popover. It was more expensive than I was willing to spend for awhile, but then the price dipped, and I have been really wanting a maternity chambray. Of course, I had to look at the other maternity items and fell in love with the gray dress.
And I just picked up a few things at Target when I was grocery shopping. No idea how I even end up in the shoes and clothes sections. It is one of the great mysteries in life. I was very happy to find some comfortable leopard flats! I have the Ona flats in a few other colors and really like them, so I think this is a good decision. Plus I had a gift card! I also ordered the Target Maternity Chambray Tunic online, but I didn't like it, so I will be returning it!
As always, I'm linking up with Fran and the Budgeting Bloggers.
I like both the dress and the chambray! Great pieces. I'm sure you'll get your wear out of them as well. Even if those are maternity leggings, I don't see you abandoning them quickly after the baby. Those tummy bands lock and load like no other elastic. lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress you got.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My blog has moved http://www.amysfashionblog.com/blog-home
I don't think we'll ever know the answer to the question of how we end up in the clothing section at Target... These are some great basics and I'm sure you'll get a lot of wear out of them even in the next few months!
ReplyDeleteI bought that chambray too!!!! Well, in the non-maternity version. I had been eyeing for a long time and then the price was so great so I just had to go for it! I'm glad you got a few things even though you only have a couple more months - by the end it was so hard for me to feel cute so I was thankful for any extra cute clothes!
ReplyDeleteThat grey dress is so pretty! And I've decided I'm only wearing leggings instead of tights from here on out this winter!
ReplyDeleteI have the non-maternity version of that gray quilted dress--it's definitely one of my new favorites!! I can't wait to see how you style it.
ReplyDeleteNice use of gift cards! I look forward to seeing you wear your grey dress!
ReplyDeleteHey, you have to be comfy when you're pregnant. Even if there are only a couple months left, having clothes that fit well will make a big difference. Besides, the leopard flats and red scarf are good for punching the style factor up even when you're not pregnant :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, that gray dress is so pretty and I can't wait to see it on you! I'm glad you were able to find some pieces that will help take you through the end of your pregnancy, too. My sister-in-law and I just went shopping together to get her some maternity clothes and she couldn't get over how comfortable the maternity pants with the full belly panel were, haha!
