Leggings
When it comes to leggings, I'm firmly in the "leggings are not pants" camp. This flowchart always makes me laugh. I'm tempted to keep a few copies with me and give them to unsuspecting strangers who are not wearing pants. I mean, seriously, if I can see the stripes on your underwear, this is a problem. I'm talking to you, ladies at the mall!
That said, I am a big fan of leggings as tights. Some days are just too cold for skirts, and even tights won't suffice. Boom. Leggings!

Three Billy Goats
Here's an outfit I wore recently. And here's a random story that has nothing to do with outfits:
The internet tells me that I should talk to my kid all the time, because it will help him learn to communicate. So I pretty much just talk nonstop when we are home by ourselves. Anyone who knows me knows that this is not a struggle. Talking is one of my top skills. But occasionally, I run of of things to chat with my infant about. So I dig into my childhood memories for stories or songs to share. But I don't quite remember the stories, so I improvise.
Three Billy Goats were hungry and they ran out of grass on their side of the river, so they had to cross a bridge (clip clop clip clop), but there was this mean troll who was going to eat them! And some stuff happened and they outsmarted the troll, and then they lived happily ever after.
These stories will not fly once he actually knows what is going on, so I looked up the real plot of this story (according to Wikipedia). It's so lame, you guys. The smallest goat goes first, and is like "oh, don't waste your time on me, my medium sized goat friend is coming across next." and then the medium one is like "better save your appetite for the biggest one!" and then the biggest one just comes and kicks the troll off the bridge. But the troll doesn't die, he just stops bothering bridge-crossers.
Why didn't the big one just go first? There was no need for a story! And would the troll really leave everyone alone after being kicked by a goat? Does anyone else remember this story with a more clever plot?

Baby Shower Baby
If you want to be a not very helpful baby shower planner, try having a baby one month before the party. Not that I know from experience. Okay, I do. This past weekend, we had a baby shower for one of my best friends. I "helped" plan it, but I'm fairly certain I did about 1% as much work as the other hostesses (and they did an awesome job!). My kiddo was the only man at the baby shower, so I think he felt kind of awkward, but he was pretty happy the whole time, and he got to meet some more of my friends, so that was exciting. Brooke is due in July, and we are pretty excited about making our babies be best friends.
Anyway, this is what I wore. It's kind of tricky getting dressed these days, because I don't have time to try on a million things, and I have no idea what will fit, and how it will fit. So I kept it simple with a black and white skirt and a looser top. I felt good and was comfortable, but I wish this skirt had pockets. Or I wish I had about 4 extra arms.

Currently October
It's October 1st, which is just completely ridiculous. How are we 3/4 through the year? I'm joining in on the Currently game again this month, with Anne. But the topics are tricky for me this time. So,
Smelling - I'm not smelling anything at the moment. I should probably light a candle or something.
Loving - the weather! It's still been fairly warm. I love this time of year when I can just wear a cardigan or light jacket and be comfortable!
Planning - well, I should be planning something for John's birthday, but we always wait until the last minute to decide things. I do have his presents purchased, so that's good.
Baking - um, I'm not baking anything right now. I'll probably bake a cake next week.
Celebrating - BIRTHDAY MONTH!! October kicks off 3 months of fun stuff. John's birthday, my birthday, and then Thanksgiving and then Christmas! And then basically 3 months of winter doom. But at least we get to have fun before January arrives.
I hope others have better answers. Although, if you are baking something, you are probably smelling the same thing, so that would be an easy way to get 2 answers. I should probably whip up some cookies and then re-answer those. But then again, no. Boring answers will have to suffice.

Something New
Well, after finishing the 30x30, I was pretty much just going to wear all new things. Here's an outfit made almost entirely up of new purchases. The outlet mall was good to me. Or rather, I was good to it.
This outfit doesn't follow the Like+Love+Bling formula. It's more like Love+Love+Love and then put on some shoes. I think it works.
Also, if you haven't yet, please take my blog survey! I'm going to call it finished on Sunday, and post about the results next week. Spoiler alert - there are no big surprises.
