Blogger Bloopers

When Fran announced the Blogger Blooper Link-Up, I was 100% on-board.  Because if we can't laugh at ourselves and each other, what's the point of fashion blogging at all?  I only looked at the last few months, and I have a lot of embarrassing photos to choose from, so I made a few collages.

My best pictures are definitely when John is available to play photographer.  Mostly because my smiles are better, and he can take a lot more pictures in a few minutes, so I have more to choose from.  Plus, he can see what he's doing, so of course it's better than my tripod/timer set up.  However, this also results in the most outtakes, because I don't know when he's clicking the button, so I'm frequently in mid-pose-change, or my eyes are closed, and I make ridiculous faces when he's around.

These tend to come in batches, like we get off track and neither of us realizes it.  So I generally have a few from each outfit that are just weird.

There are also times where I'm just not looking at the camera.  I know this is like fashion blogger 101 - it's so mysterious to be looking down or to the side coyly.  Except not.

Once nice thing is that he can tell me if something looks funny.  Well, if he notices.  But you might think he'd stop snapping pics while I fix the issue.  You'd be wrong.  So we have great shots of me fixing makeup lines and flattening down my hair.

To be fair, I do have trouble by myself sometimes.  I rely on my tripod and timer, which works great most of the time.  But lately, my tripod has gotten a little bit wobbly, so sometimes it shifts after I set it up.  And my pictures are headless.  Like this:

Other times, I move at the exact moment the camera clicks, or forget to take my work name badge off.  Or it's just really sunny.  Either way, there are some bad pictures in the mix.

So there you have it. My blog photo outtakes from the past few months.  I had a lot of fun putting this together!  And I'm posting early, because I'll be busy doing Skirt Week all next week.  The good news is that you have time to put your bloopers together and link up on the 23rd!

  4. That's nice that John notices and helps you fix things. The only thing my husband ever comments on is when I have a weird hair flipped out of place. Maybe once my cardigan was rolled under and he pointed that out. Anyway, I like your bloopers, and bloopers in general because I think you get to see the person in a natural candid setting. Can't wait for skirt week!

  5. Haha I love these! I pretty much always take my photos with the timer, but sometimes I get distracted at the very second the timer goes off. So I'll probably have a few to share also next week!

  6. Andi - these photos are the best! I'm thinking a 30x30 headless series is in your future. Also, this is the first time I've commented on a blog and I saved it for YOU!!!

  7. Hahaha, this is totally making me giggle! I do my photos by myself almost all the time, and I usually delete the ones immediately if they're bad, so I rarely have outtakes. However, I recently couldn't take my photos by myself because it was suuuper windy outside and my phone kept blowing over, so Kevin took them for me. AKA TONS OF BLOOPERS. Perfect timing for the linkup, haha.

  8. Haha bloopers are always so fun to see! My hubby does the same when he's taking pictures of me- he keeps snapping away as I'm adjusting or something and I end up getting mad, but then there's plenty of pictures for posts such as this!

  10. These are hilarious!! I'll have to do one of these posts when I'm on vacation and I'll be short on outfit posts. I like the ones where you're mysteriously looking down. I never know how to pose in pictures and feel like looking away from the camera always looks good because my face can't look messed up that way. Great post!

  11. I love all of these great bloopers! I totally agree that it's fun to laugh at ourselves! The tripod ones with your head cut off are so funny! I have no clue how to do the tripod/remote thing so I'm sure mine would be WAY worse! Thanks for linking up!
