Things Kids Say

How about a funny story for Thursday.  Yesterday, one of my co-workers had his kids at the office.  His son is 5, and was hilarious when he learned that there's a baby in my tummy.  He kind of moved around to the side and was checking my belly out.  And then he slowly said "I like... your... tummy."  And I said "thanks, I like it too!" and then I just laughed about it for the rest of the day.  I don't know how you elementary school teachers get anything done with kids saying silly stuff all the time!

And here's a fun little outtake.  John was taking these pictures, and after a few, I realized that I still had my winter scarf on, which wasn't part of the outfit!  But he just kept snapping away as I noticed my mistake!  And then he told me that I had a weird strand of hair sticking out the side of my head.

  1. Ha - you'll start to get some weird comments (and perhaps slightly unwelcome - why do people feel like they can comment on pregnant bellies, I don't know) from strangers about the belly, but from a 5-year-old? Always welcome for the laugh. Love the pretty pink cardigan!

  3. Too funny! When I was pregnant, one of my co-workers brought her son in and asked him what he thought was in my belly. His response? A Kung Fu panda! Hahaha! Kids really do say the cutest things ever. :)

  4. I see my college students as kids sometimes, except they don't say the darndest things. I guess the bright side of that is that it lets me get work done?

  5. Double scarves. lol! When I was a kindergarten sub, kids would tell me all kinds of crazy things. That's probably one of the sweetest ways I've ever heard a child refer to a belly. I married my husband when his youngest brother was four. Any time I would gain weight he would say I was preggo. I knew he meant well but it gets to ya a little.
