Phantom of the Opera

This is what I wore to the last broadway show of the season:  Phantom of the Opera.  I was happy to have another fun dress from Bella Gravida to wear.

I'm not a big fan of Phantom.  I know it's a favorite of many people, but I just don't get into it.  I first saw it about 6 or 7 years ago.  It's one of my MIL and SIL's favorites, so I was excited.  I also had a vague idea of the plot, which was completely wrong.  I always thought the Phantom was a nice but misunderstood guy, but he's actually quite evil.  So that's a whole different dynamic!

Anyway, with my expectations lowered, I did enjoy this show.  The music is pretty fun, and I about jumped out of my seat when the chandelier falls.  My SIL was like "didn't you know that was coming?"  No, I really didn't remember it from 7 years ago!  Shocking, I know.

Playing in the Leaves

This is what I wore to church last Sunday.  The skirt is from LeTote, and of course, I liked it because it's a knit pencil skirt and it is striped.  Two of my favorite clothing categories.  I'm sad to be wearing tights already, but it's getting cold around here.

While taking pictures, John decided to throw leaves at me, because fall.  This is the only picture where I don't look terrified.

Mr. Baby was significantly more excited about the leaves.  We built up a pile for him and let him play the other day.  It was basically the greatest moment of his life.  He loved it.

Crazy Sleeves

Here's another LeTote item.  They seem to have a lot of wrap dresses.  Once agin, a cami kept me decent.  I really liked the print of this dress, and that it was longer than mid-thigh.  But it was almost too long, in that it looked weird with flats.  And what is even going on with the sleeves (pictured below)?  I'm glad it was jacket weather.  I'm starting to think the dress options from LeTote aren't going to work so well for me.  They are all too short, too tight, or wrap tops!

Anyway, I wore this to the first Broadway show of the season with my MIL and SIL.  It's nice to have a little night out and excuse to dress up now and then.

New Necklace and Half Birthday

Can you tell I'm wearing these white jeans a lot lately?  I kind of love them, so I have to wear them as much as possible.  I think I wore this to a doctor's appointment last week, but honestly, the days are starting to blur together.  I do know that I was excited to wear my new necklace that my sister sent me.  Of course, I didn't get a good picture of it, because I am a negligent blogger.  But it's a silver pendant that says "Due in May" and has a little green birthstone on it.  It's pretty sweet.  (Thanks, sister!!)

Oh, and today is my half-birthday!  I still think it would be cool if baby decides to show up today, but he probably won't.  So I might just have to go somewhere fun for dinner.  Unless I'm too tired, of course.

Substitution - Leopard Flats

Well, since I haven't been working for the last couple weeks, and I've had family in town, I pretty much have lost all track of what day it is anyway, so why not have a Saturday post?  Plus, I have all these Top 10 Remix outfits to deal with.

Since the striped flats from Target didn't work out, I needed to make a substitution.  I decided these leopard flats would be a good option.  I wore this outfit for an afternoon of shopping with my sister and nieces.  They accused me of not dressing like myself, because I normally wear colors.  I had to explain that maternity clothes aren't as easy to find in bright colors.

Tea Party Outfit

The best thing about this dress is that it was free.  The next best thing is that it was a little bit too big, so it still fits me when I am 8months pregnant!  I should probably have gotten it taken in a bit originally, but I'm glad I didn't, because I was very excited to wear it to the recent tea party that I attended.

Of course, I should be fired from blogging, since I didn't take any pictures at the tea party.  Just imagine a beautifully set table with pretty teacups at each place setting, and then imagine my friends all sitting around the table in pretty dresses, sipping tea and eating crumpets.  That's what it was like.

And then I went home and took pictures of my outfit next to the wall.

Happy Green Day

Yeah yeah, I'm not wearing very much green in this outfit. If you look closely, there are leaves on the flowers on my scarf.  And that's the only green outfit I had in my queue for this week, because I wasn't thinking about St. Patrick's Day when I scheduled Sunday's post.  I'm probably wearing green in real life today, even though I'm not Catholic, so I should probably wear orange.  But green is one of my favorite colors, so I like any excuse to wear it.

By the way, I'm all of a sudden feeling hugely pregnant.  Not in a bad way, just in a "there is no question anymore" way, which is kind of nice.  But rumor has it that this kid is going to double in size in the next 6 weeks, so I expect my belly to expand quite a bit as well.

Legs for One Day

On the most glorious of all January days, the temperature actually topped out at 61 and I was the happiest girl in the world.  I took advantage of the opportunity to wear bare (bear) legs, and normal shoes (not boots!).  It was so great.  And John may have called me crazy, because the low was still in the 40s, and it was pretty windy, and I didn't see anyone else in bare legs.  So maybe I am crazy.  But you know, I'm glad I got one day where I didn't have to wear boots or tights.  And then it snowed like 2 days later, so it's a good thing I took advantage of the nice weather!

PMT - Wear Red, Pink, or Purple

Since Valentine's Day is coming up, the challenge this week is to wear red, pink, or purple.  I decided to try the red and pink route again, like I did last year.  First, I pulled out all the red and pink items from my closet and laid them out on my bed to see what tones would look good together, and remind myself of what I even have.  I ended up with this lighter pink skirt that I've been neglecting since the 30X30 got over, and my red polka dot scarf, which I should also wear more often.  A little gray and black helped tone down the obscene Valentinesy vibe, I think.  At least, I hope.

Anyway, I thought it turned out pretty cute, so that's what matters, right?

Graphic Tee Week: Weezer

Another band t-shirt, but I couldn't help myself.  These are absolutely my favorite tees.  It seems like band merchandise has gotten nicer over the years.  My recent concert tees are all super soft cotton, so I love them.  And I mean, this one features a robot in an argyle sweater playing a drum.  What more could you want from a t-shirt??  Maybe a blogger whose hair doesn't cover half of the design?

I went the more casual route with this outfit.  This probably wouldn't fly at most offices, but as I've mentioned before - mine is super casual, unless we have clients visiting, which is pretty rare.

Make sure you come back tomorrow for the grand finale of Graphic Tee week, which also happens to be my 30th birthday!  (send presents)

Titled

As you can tell, I've been super inspired with blog post titles lately.  Like yesterday, when I completely forgot to even put a title on it.  Oops!  That has been fixed now, and it is cleverly named "Untitled." Someone should really pay me for being so awesome!

Anyway, this outfit is from last Friday, when I took pictures in the mall parking lot (who am I?) before meeting up with John to see Divergent.  My blogger bun is quite nice when it's so windy.  I don't have to fight with my hair at all!  I did, however, have to dive to save my camera a couple times as the tripod started to blow over.  I don't remember this being an issue last spring.  What's the deal, Nebraska??  (Sorry - I promise to stop talking about the wind just as soon as it stops being such a big part of my daily life).

How Many Blue Skirts Does One Blogger Need?

Three, apparently.  About 6 months ago, for some reason, I got it in my head that I really needed a COBALT blue pencil skirt.  Even though I already had 2 other blue pencil skirts (here and here).  There was one at J.Crew Factory that I really wanted, but it never went on sale enough for me to take the plunge.  Then I saw this knit option at Old Navy on black Friday (yeah, way back in NOVEMBER).  Since I love my Old Navy knit striped pencil skirt, I thought this would be perfect.  So I bought it.  And then I didn't wear it for 4 months.  Yeah, that's probably evidence that I didn't need it.  Oops.

Anyway, this is it's big debut on the blog.  Pretty exciting.  I wore this a couple Friday's ago to work, and then to the outlet mall to check out J.Crew Factory's big 50% off sale.  Where I probably bought more things I don't really need.  But I've already worn most of them, so at least they won't be ignored for 4 months!

Anyway, I've been thinking I really need a NAVY blue skirt now.  That's completely different, right?

Last time I wore this shirt, Brynn asked for a close-up of the pattern.  So here you go!

Moto Jacket Copycat

When I saw Inge rocking this outfit, I knew I would be copying it before too long.  I was going to just wear my gray sweater, but then it was a kind of warmer day, and I like any excuse to mix some prints, so I went with this striped tee instead.  And I decided it would be a good time to try the "regular scarf as an infinity scarf" trick.  I think it worked pretty well!  And I was having a good hair day.  So, I'll call this outfit a win!
Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday.  I think I'm on the upswing, so hopefully I can rest this weekend and be back to normal soon!

#30 - Finished

Well, this is my last outfit of the 30X30, so I'm free to wear anything in my closet now!  It actually wasn't that bad, but I'll be happy to have a bigger pool of items to choose from.

I feel kind of tough with my black jeans, boots, and jacket!  But the pink blouse bring it into Andi territory, so I don't feel like I'm in a costume.

#21 - Forever Young

This is an outfit I created on Polyvore, and it looked like a good idea on the collage.  Then I put it on, and decided the polka dot scarf was too much.  Then I felt like I was trying to look younger than I am.  Each of these items is somewhat "junior-ish," so combining them all just didn't quite work out.  But I had to get to work, so I just went with it.  Not my favorite look, but hopefully no one judged me too harshly.  Be honest, do I look like a 29-year-old pretending to be 19?  Because if you can't trust strangers on the internet to give reliable feedback, who can you trust?

#6 - Faux Leather Triple Threat

I've had a black moto jacket on my list for YEARS.  It's just hard to find the right style and fit (for the right price), but I finally found this one at Target of all places - for 40% off!  I bought it over the weekend and just had to add it to my 30x30 remix list.  I still have one open spot, but I'm going to try to save it for later.

This jacket isn't great for a freezing day, so I layered a sweater and a cardigan for some extra warmth.  The wind wasn't too bad, so it worked out pretty well.  It will be perfect on the 40-60 degree days!
