Polka Dot Week - Jeans

Welcome to POLKA DOT WEEK!  After unintentionally wearing polka dots almost every day last week, it just made sense to make a little theme week on the blog.  Polka dots are awesome.  If you disagree, just leave now.  (I'm kidding.  You can stay, but you might not want to.)

Polka dots have really taken off in the last few years, and this is one trend I am totally on board with.  Kim recently posted about being boring or being trendy and it got me thinking.  After writing a really long comment on her post, I realized polka dots are an example of a trend that isn't really trendy as much as it is a classic pattern that comes and goes in popularity.  I've always loved polka dots, but rarely found polka dotted items in stores.  I bought this skirt about 15 years ago, even though no one else I knew was wearing polka dots at the time.  I just liked it.  Now polka dots are everywhere, and my closet reflects that availability.

These jeans were a Labor Day sale purchase from Limited.  Printed denim is definitely a current trend.  I don't think I will still be wearing these jeans in 15 years, but you never know!

Stay tuned this week for more outfits made up of polka dots, and get ready for Friday, where you can link up your favorite polka dot styles!

  1. I agree about polka dots. They are just classics that never really go out of style. Looking forward to your polka dot week! I will have to make sure that I wear some this week so I can link up on Friday :)

  2. The great thing about the polka dot pattern on those jeans though is that it is so subtle, you may actually be able to wear it still even when it's not "trendy" anymore, unlike flashier prints.

  4. I love polka dots, I'm even wearing a polka dot shirt today! I really like these jeans. They have the fun pattern but not in a super in-your-face kind of way. Cute!

  6. Hurray for polka dots! I have had some polka dot items for a few years and I am happy they are now in the style spotlight. Your polka dot pants are great! I love the pop of color with your shoes, they are perfect with your shirt.

  7. Yay for polka dot jeans! I can't imagine wearing jeans or any pants for that matter any time soon. I like that the polka dots are subtle enough to blend well with the floral :)

  8. I'm a fan of polka dot jeans - they're the only printed denim I have, and they're my favorite! I love the light wash of yours, and how subtle the polka dots are! I'm so excited to see your other polka dot outfits this week!! :)

  9. 1) This is really cute, the polka dot jeans are adorable! 2) You have a good point about trends vs. "classics" that fade in and out of popularity, polka dots is definitely one of those things. So glad it's "in style" (and therefore available everywhere) right now!

  10. Hi Andi, thanks for your sweet comments on my blog! I'm happily following along with yours :)

A link-up, hooray! This is a fun idea for a theme week too! I honestly don't think I would have enough dots for a whole weeks wear, but at least enough for one day! Your jeans are super cute too. That's a fun spin on a classic!

  11. I hadn't considered polka dots a classic, but you're totally right! They are! Those jeans are so cute and I feel like the fact that they're lighter denim with white dots will make them so versatile because they're not as bold as some other options. Great look!
