Old Sweater, New Scarf

You guys, I have been sick all week, and it is not fun.  I keep thinking I'm over this cold and then I wake up feeling terrible again.  It would probably help if I actually got some rest, but I have things to do!  It just seems like I get sick at the worst times, and I don't want to bail on commitments I had previously made.   Anyway, enough whining.  Let's talk about clothes!

This scarf is new.  It was a gift from my mother-in-law.  She's pretty good at picking out things for me.  The sweater is old.  I've had it for several years, but I usually grab my other black Gap sweater, so this one hasn't been worn as much recently.  I do really like the thin cable knit on this one.  Here's to wearing it more.

The shoes have been neglected due to weather-related necessity.  I've been wearing boots almost every day for the past 3 months.  I'm trying to sneak in other shoes as much as possible, but when it's snowy and/or super cold, comfort trumps style.  I thought the polka dots were a fun addition with the printed scarf.

  1. Sorry to hear you are feeling sick! Hopefully you can kick it soon or my motherly instinct tells me to say "Get your rest"!!!! The scarf looks great with the black sweater. It really pops!

  3. That is such a great scarf! I can imagine so many ways you could wear it (although not sure if it would necessarily work)... like with your new green jeans?! I really like your shoes and can't wait for flat weather to come and NOT go. Hope you feel better soon! If you can't get rest, make sure you're drinking enough fluids and getting enough vitamin C (but not too much OJ--- sugar isn't good for the immune system when your'e sick!)

  5. Ah no! Get better soon! I know it's hard to slow down but hopefully you'll get some rest this weekend? This is a great outfit. I love how a cute scarf can really jazz up an otherwise simple outfit. Love the flats too!

  8. Even sick, you look great! I love your hair like this, too. The scarf is such a fun print to pull together the outfit. Go momma-in-law! I wore my flats today and felt like a total rebel.

  9. What a bummer about being sick! I, too, have been sick for the past week and cannot shake it! I usually feel awful in the morning and at night, but I'm mostly alright during the days. It's the weirdest! I hope you can rest up and start to feel back to normal soon!

I'm usually not a fan of buns, but you look so dang cute with your hair like this! I really, really love it!
