Summer 30X30 -The Items

And now the moment everyone has been waiting for - the big 30x30 items reveal!!!  As I promised, there's a lot of navy going on in this mix!  I hope I've included enough variety and other colors, so it won't get too boring.

Here's the detailed info, broken out by item type:

Summer 30X30 - tops

9 Tops:

Summer 30X30 - layers

4 Layering pieces:
Summer 30X30 - skirts
  6 Skirts:

Summer 30X30 - shoes

5 Pairs of Shoes

Summer 30X30 - other

2 Dresses, 2 pairs of Shorts, and 1 pair of Jeans (aka - other items):
I'm including 2 items that were also in my winter 30X30 - the red skirt and the gray flats.  I'm not really sure why the red skirt is in the mix again.  I like it, and I haven't worn it much this summer, and it should look good with all the navy tops.  The gray shoes were a last minute addition.  I was starting to feel like I'd be wearing the navy flats with every single outfit, so I wanted some variety.

If you did the math, I only have 29 items listed.  I'm keeping the 30th spot open for a yet to be determined item.  I'll just see what I start to miss and add something later.

If you aren't familiar with the 30x30 rules, it's pretty simple.  I will make 30 outfits out of these items.  I can add accessories.  As far as I know, Kendi came up with the idea.  I really enjoyed doing it in January, so I'm hoping the summer version will be just as fun.

So any advice on what my 30th item should be?  Is there an obvious missing piece?

  1. CUTE stuff! You could always add something random that you may or may not wear or something that you don't wear often, like with the red skirt.

  2. I think you did a great job picking out your items! I can see how everything will go together really well without getting boring. I would probably keep that 30th spot open for a while. Once you start wearing everything you might catch something else you wanted to include.

  7. This post really took me for a loop because I could tell there weren't 30 items. I can't remember, with a 30x30 can you throw in accessories whenever you want? If not, then I'd put a scarf in the mix. If you can do accessories as you please, then I'd consider throwing in a sweater, something you recently bought, or something you haven't worn in a long time. or following Inge's suggestion and leaving that spot open? Good luck!

  8. WOO!! I can't wait to see how you remix everything for this round of 30x30! Maybe add another top or cardigan for the last piece? I totally failed my last attempt at 30x30 (only maybe it to about 15?) because I fell short on layering pieces. :(

Can't wait to see how this pans out!

  12. Very nice choices, Andi! I love all the navy + white :) I think that if I were you, I might consider adding in a solid colored top/tee that would layer well under all of your outer layers and go with all your bottoms. Perhaps a solid white tee or tank? That way, you'd be able to accessorize to your heart's content, haha. I'm much more of a "safe" dresser than you are (I admire your adventurous approach to mixing colors and patterns!!), so that might sound way too boring, haha!

  13. Cool that you are doing a 30 for 30 for Summer. I am also doing one. I will start it sometime in mid August and you will see each outfit on the blog in September. You chose some awesome pieces. I would add a striped or floral dress - shocker, I know. Yep, you only have 2 Dresses, I feel like you need a third one.

  14. I am always fascinated by what people choose for their 30x30! And like most things, you can tell a lot about a person...you know where I was going with that.

Anyway! Should I ever find myself doing this challenge, I think I will try my best to have a mix of workhorses AND things I've neglected. Seems like you have a pretty good combo. I'm impressed that their are items in your Winter and Summer 30x30! Good purchases, for sure.

Well, good luck! I'm excited to follow along. I will also take this opportunity to say that the pink pleated skirt is the most perfect item of all time.

    ♥ perfectly Priya
