Bloglovin'

By now, you've probably heard that Google Reader (and maybe Google Friend Connect) is going away.  When I heard the news, I switched to Bloglovin for my daily blog reading.  It was really easy to make the switch, and I was able to import my Google Reader blogs into Bloglovin.

Pros:
  • It was a good time to trim down my list of blogs.  The list had grown so much that I was missing out on the ones I really wanted to read.
  • Bloglovin seems easier to make groups of blogs, and mark certain ones as read.

Con:
  • I have to open each blog to read the full post.  Google Reader had the full post most of the time (depending on the blogger settings).  I don't think it actually takes longer, but it seems annoying to have to open each blog in a new tab.

One thing I have heard/read from other bloggers is that it will be nice for GFC to go away, because then we won't all be so focused on the number of followers.  I don't really get this, because Bloglovin' still tells you a number of followers.

Anyway, if you are currently using Google Reader, I would recommend Bloglovin as an alternative.  You can import your GR subscriptions, or just start fresh.  You can find and follow me here!

PS - I'm being an outfit copycat again.  I don't think I would have thought of combining yellow, pink, and purple, but this picture inspired me!  I was going to wait until it was warm, but I got impatient, and I really like how the denim jacket and gray boots tone down the crazy bright colors.

Twelvesies

You guys, it is 12-12-12!  AND it's the last time the date will line up like that until 01-01-2101, so you better enjoy it.  Back in 2007, I know a bunch of people who got married on 07-07-07, because it's just a cool date.  It helped that it was a Saturday.  I wonder if anyone is getting hitched on a Wednesday just because of the 12-12-12 date.

Just in case you aren't aware, Christmas is in less than 2 weeks!  I am mostly done with my shopping, but have a few more items to pick up.  I need to get in gear so I can mail everything in time!

Airplane Museum

This past weekend, my parents came to visit!  It was so great to see them.  The last time the were in Omaha, we went to the zoo and the pedestrian bridge downtown, so this time, we ventured west to the Strategic Air and Space Museum.    When we got there, a tour was just starting, so we were able to join it.  Our tour guide was wonderful!  He had some really great stories, and it was way more interesting than just walking around reading all the signs.

This little plane was so cute, I just had to take a picture.

And I made my parents pose by the rocket out front!

I feel like I failed at taking pictures of the weekend.  I didn't get any pictures of myself with my parents!

Mom and Dad, thanks for driving all the way out here to see us!

Cinnamon Perfume

At my office, there's an air freshener in the bathroom.  This is a good thing, as we wouldn't want a smelly bathroom.  There's just one problem:  this air freshener has a personal vendetta against me.  It likes to go off right when I walk in the door, so I'm hit with a blast of cinnamon scent, which settles in my hair and I smell like Big Red gum for the rest of the day.  I should probably stop wasting my actual perfume, because it is just overpowered by cinnamon.

This entire outfit is from the Gap.  I guess the shoes are technically from the Gap Outlet.  And the scarf was a Christmas present from my sister, but it's also from Gap.

Y is for Yellow

The ABC Challenge is drawing to a close, and Y is obviously for Yellow!  I really love this color, but I have to be careful, because sometimes it doesn't go so well with super pale skin.

I wore this on Thursday, which felt like a Friday.  Mostly because a meeting that we always have on Fridays was moved to Thursday.  Then, just to add to my confusion, John and I went to a movie last night.

FYI, popcorn and Milk Duds are not the dinner of champions.  Not that I had that for dinner, I'm just saying.  Ok, I might have.

I'm so excited for the weekend!  I don't have any big plans, but am just excited to have some free time.  I'll probably get caught up on stuff around the house.  Maybe even go to the grocery store.  Do you have any exciting plans??

Feels like ZERO

Remember last week, when I talked about fake spring?  It was 68 degrees that day.  Just 2 days ago, the high was 60, and a light cardigan was sufficient outerwear.  Well, fake spring is officially over.  According to weather.com, it feels like ZERO degrees right now.  I was decked out in winter accessories today.  The hat and gloves were Christmas presents from John.  See, now I can use my phone without freezing my hands!

I knew the sun wasn't supposed to come out today, so I thought I'd rock some sunshine in my outfit.  This henley is pretty lightweight, so I threw the sweater on for extra warmth.  Honestly, I wore my coat all day at work, too.  It was freezing in my office.  Well, not literally freezing, but you know, kind of chilly.

This entire outfit is brought to you by GAP.  Except the socks.  They are from NY&co.
