Anniversary Date

Since I'm not on my computer as much, I started writing posts from the blogger app. The only problem is sometimes they don't save right, so I wrote this whole post and then it was gone.  So here's a short version:

I liked this outfit, but the skirt is too big and looks kind of goofy.  I need to find time to do some quick alterations on a few skirts, but it's hard to find time for normal stuff, much less sewing!

I wore this to go to Noodles&Co for our traditional anniversary date.  This year, John and I had a third wheel, but he is so cute that we don't mind.

And we even took our annual selfie in front of the sign:

And when we got home, John took outfit pics for me and captured this gem:

We did go on a real date that weekend, and left the little mister with his grandparents.  But I didn't even think about taking outfit pics.  Since you are all dying to know, I wore my green shorts and polka dot popover.

Weekend Recap

This weekend was busy!  This seems to be a trend lately - I guess we are packing in everything before baby arrives and then I won't do anything for a few months!  Anyway, here's what happened...

Friday night, I went to dinner and Motown with my MIL and SIL.  The show was so good!  Maybe my favorite of this season.  The sound was a little off at the very beginning, so I was worried, but they got it sorted and then the rest of the show was fantastic.  The music was just so fun - all the old songs everyone knows!

Saturday I slept in way late because I am so tired lately, then I got a few things done around the house.  In the afternoon, I went to a tea party.  Seriously, because my friends are ridiculous and awesome.  The hostesses did an awesome job and it was quite a fancy little occasion.  Plus it was really fun to catch up with everyone.  After that, I met up with John and his parents for dinner.

As dinner was finishing up, I started to get some pre-migraine feelings, so we went home and I just took it easy for the rest of the evening.  I never got a full blown migraine, but I woke up Sunday morning feeling pretty terrible.  So Sunday was spent mostly trying to not get a real migraine while still accomplishing a few things.

Anyway, that was my weekend.  And this outfit is from about a week ago when we had a random 80+ degree day.  I'd really love it if we could settle into a couple months of 70 degrees all the time.  So, let's do that, okay?

#22 - Writer's Block

New hardest part of the 30x30 is that I apparently don't have 30 days worth of things to say in a month.  So let me just talk about my outfit.  I like it in theory, but I think the proportions are a little bit off.  I still need to take this skirt in a couple inches, because it's still way too big.  And the cardigan is a bit more fitted than the shirt, so I think it looks a little funny.  In a normal world, I would have switched out for a longer cardigan, but in 30x30 world, this is my only option.

Don't forget to take the survey if you haven't yet!

#13 - Navy Week - Striped Skirt

Hey, it's the confetti shirt again, because GUESS WHAT?  Some of the dots are navy, so it goes with this navy/cobalt striped skirt.  I just really love clothes with so many different colors, because they pretty much go with everything.

And I'm still pretty excited about this pink blazer.  It's not getting much play in the remix, because layers are not needed when the weather is consistently in the 90s.  Good thing I don't believe in "fall colors," so I will be wearing this a lot when it starts to cool down.  And no, I'm not part of the blogger coalition that is anxiously awaiting fall.  Let's keep summer around for awhile longer, okay?

#3 - Florals, and Ruffles, and Stripes (oh my)

I'm on the fence about this outfit.  I felt kind of weird all day, but I like it in the pictures.  It was perfect for the super hot and humid day I wore it, though.  Except for when I was at work, so about 90% of the time I was wearing it.  See, I recently moved offices, and now the A/C vent is on the floor just to my right.  So my left side is usually comfortable, while my right side is freezing.  I should probably invest in some one-shouldered sweaters.

Skirt Time

I'm finally linking up for Skirt Week with Katie, Liz, and Sarah.  I mean, I love skirts and I can't resist a good old-fashioned theme link-up.  This is the second time I've worn this skirt.  I wore it right away after buying it, and it was a little baggy.  I thought it would shrink up a bit in the wash, but it didn't  It's just too big.  I'm going to have to see if I can take in the waist, because I was in danger of losing it all day.  On a positive note, it's SUPER comfortable!

It's been a crazy week.  Yesterday was one of those "back-to-back meetings for 4 hours straight" type of days.  I finally got to sneak out for lunch around 3pm.  Not awesome.  I'm headed to a conference next week, so there's just a lot of work to get ready for it, and never enough hours in the day.

I'll be busy packing tonight and tomorrow, and then we're going to see Ben Folds on Saturday!  Have I mentioned he's my favorite?  I've lost count of how many of his concerts I've been to, but I will keep going because he's amazing.  I'm just hoping the 60% chance of rain doesn't happen to be at concert time!

And finally, since I love you guys, here's an outtake.  I don't even know how this happened.  I guess I was flipping my hair.  Model material right here!

Nautical Week - Boat Shoes

After about 5 years of wanting boat shoes, I finally pulled the trigger on these Sperrys.  I had a Zappos gift card, so it seemed like a good time to go for it. They arrived on Thursday, and I wanted to wear them immediately, so I built this outfit around them.  I think my new skirt is pretty cute with boat shoes.  I mean, I definitely felt prepared on the off chance that I was invited to go sailing.

In other news, I'm super excited because I'm going to see Wicked tonight!  I've seen it 2 other times and it is just SO GOOD!  I'll probably pay to see it every time it comes to town, and it seems like everyone else in Omaha agrees, because it's here for a few weeks!  If you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend you check it out if it comes to your town!

Nautical Week continues!  Linkup is after the jump!
