Blazer Week - Pink or Sangria?

Happy Blazer Week!  I'm so excited to have Danielle as my co-host this month.  Be sure to check out her blog each day to see how she's styling her blazers this week.

I'm also a little bit sad because Marisa and Heidi are doing their Pantone-Inspired Color challenge this week and I usually love jumping in on that, but most of my blazer outfits don't really align with the colors!  I'm going to try to do what I can, but it might be a long shot!

I'm pretending this blazer applies to the Sangria color for today.  Normally, I'd think of sangria as a darker pinkish-red, but the Pantone example looks pretty pink, so I'll say this blazer counts, okay?

I met John for lunch on the day I wore this outfit.  When we sat down at our table, he exclaimed with horror "Are you wearing a VEST?" and I was like, "No, this is a blazer.  Vests don't have sleeves" but he meant under the blazer.  "No, this is just a blouse.  Vests aren't sewn shut in the front middle."  And I mean, what's the problem with vests anyway?

And I feel I must explain that these pictures are from a couple weeks ago.  We now have several inches of snow on the ground, and my weather app is telling me things like "Feels like -2," so I can't get away with just a blazer as my outerwear.  Good thing I pre-planned for this week!

Anyway, link up below!

Blazer: Gap via consignment (optionoption)

  1. I was so bummed out when I found out that blazer week and Pantone week coincided. I've tried to do both, but it's been so much harder than I thought it would be. Anyway, I feel like we've had the conversation about how husbands are weird multiple times already, but I'll echo the sentiment: husbands are weird sometimes.

  2. It's tough to do a combo theme - I am using this for blazer week and royal blue for later this week. I love how men think they know fashion...too funny!

Thank you for hosting blazer week!

  3. I like how you belted your top under your blazer. It turned out really cute! And sangria can definitely go either light or dark. Just like the real drink! ;)

    1. And I am hoping my jacket counts as a blazer. Maybe it can go either way, too! :)

  4. What a cute look! I love the way the cheery pink blazer and black stripes look together. I might have to copy you on this one!

  5. Maybe we should start a link up called "things my husband says about my clothes." Lol! Mine looked down and said "hey disco pants" when he walked in the door. Thanks husband, thanks. Anyways, I really love this blazer. I'm always scared to wear something so bold and pink because I think I'll look too much like "workin' woman barbie" haha.

  6. Ahhh so sorry that we are overlapping on our challenges! We'll have to coordinate schedules next time :) Props to you for incorporating both! I love this outfit and the pop of color. And men....need I say more?

  7. I'm struggling in general with both of your challenges this week just because I don't have time to take pictures. Ugh, life! Haha.

  8. Hahahaha, I love all the things John says about your outfits! Seriously, he is hilarious. I really like the combination of black + white + pink as well. And the addition of the belt under your blazer? Really fun!
