Third Thursday - Beauty

When Bri announced that this month's theme was beauty, I was like "huh - I don't really do that!"  I mostly just look the way I look and then wear clothes!  My hair and make-up routine is pretty minimal.  In fact, I did a post about it back in 2012, if you are interested.  The only change for my hair is that I switched to using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, and I use a deep-conditioner about once a week.  I also add some leave-in conditioner before I slather on the mousse.  I pretty much have 3 hairstyles - down, ponytail, and bun.  Sometimes, I will do a braid (or two).  But it's usually just down and curly!

I don't paint my nails very often, because I am notorious for picking at any little bump.  So if the nails are perfect, I won't mess with them, but if there is even a tiny smudge, I will destroy the whole thing within a couple of days.  I should really exercise more self-control with that, because painted nails are pretty!

As you can see, I was sort of stumped, and then Bri mentioned lipstick.  Last summer, I bought some lip-stain and I really liked it, but I always forget to put it on.  So, I made sure to remember to paint my lips pink for this day!  I'm not a fan of actual lipstick, but I love the lip-stain, because the color goes on easily, and then you can add glossiness with the balm.

Anyway, maybe I'll pick up some tips from the other ladies who link up!

Top: Gap

  1. The lipstain looks pretty on you and really brightens up your face! If I had to pick one beauty product it would be lipstick/gloss/stain, whatever. Even if you have no other make up on, a little dash of lipstick makes you look instantly pulled together! Loving your bow top too. So cute!

  2. The lipstain looks great on you, especially with your top! Lipstick is something I only put on once a day on my way to work. I just keep it in my purse otherwise I forget. Have you noticed a difference when you switched to sulfate free?

  3. One of the first things I noticed was your lip color! I'm with you, I feel like lipstick is a waste because it comes right off. But lipstain is amazing! What brand do you use?

  4. I'm a lipstain girl too. Have you try gel nail polish. You might like it better then regular polish.

  6. You look great, Andi! I'll have to figure out what beauty thing I can incorporate for this link-up, too. I don't branch out with hair/make-up as often as I should! Love the blouse too. Happy Friday!!

  7. Ooh, nice! I really like the lip stain, Andi! I'm never good at beauty stuff either - I am the WORST at makeup, I never paint my fingernails, I kind of wing it with my hair...so I didn't link up this month. I probably should become a grown up one of these days and actually learn how to do my makeup...
