This is another example of an outfit that started out in my head a certain way and then ended up completely different.  It all started because Kate commented on this post that I should try wearing that blue/orange-ish skirt with something purple.  I immediately thought of this scarf with orange and purple on it.  It didn't look quite right with this tee and scarf, so I added the gray cardigan for some neutral hoping the neutral would subdue the situation.  I still felt weird, so I just grabbed my black skirt and called it a day.

I still think purple is an idea I need to figure out with that other skirt.  I'll just have to try again some other day!

Cardigan: Old Navy (similar)
Scarf: F21 (similar)
Tee: J.Crew Factory (exact in other colors)
Skirt: Gibson&Latimer (similarsimilar)
Shoes: Old Navy (similar without captoe)

  1. oh man, if I had a dollar for every time I started with one outfit idea and ended up with something entirely different... well, I'd have enough money for a new outfit? I dunno, but I really like the purple, black, and grey together. Now I'm thinking of creating an outfit around these three colors, and I bet you what I end up with will look nothing like what I started with. Look forward to that post!

  3. I don't think it's bad at all! The print on the scarf is so pretty that it makes everything else great. I do really like the idea of purple and orange together so I'm excited to see what you can do with it!

  4. Haha, that kind of thing happens to me all the time!! You're in good company ;) I really like how this outfit looks, anyhow - that scarf is so pretty, and I like the extra spice it adds to your outfit. I wonder if this tee and your blue+orange skirt would look good together with your denim jacket over it?? Probably more of a springy/summery outfit, but it could look cute nonetheless! Or was it the purple tee that was throwing you off with that skirt?
