Currently March

It's March, which means I have plus or minus 2 months before Baby Smith arrives.  So there's that.  I'm sure no one is ever really ready, but I'm not feeling too panicked (most of the time).  Today, I'm linking up with Anne and Jenna for what I'm currently doing (spoiler alert - it's mostly baby-related):

Dreaming - oh, so many weird dreams right now!  I've always had weird dreams, but pregnancy has really upped the ante.  Oh wait, is this supposed to be more like what I'm dreaming of happening soon or something?  Well, okay then - I'm dreaming of how much my life is about to change, and how wonderful and scary that is all at the same time.

Planning - have I mentioned my enormous baby spreadsheet?  I'm usually a pretty go with the flow personality, but this kid has me on my A game.  I have timelines, task lists, packing lists, gift/thank you lists, and freezer meal recipe lists.  It's a bit crazy, but I think it helps me feel more prepared and in control of the situation.  Otherwise, I could see myself going forgetting some important things!

Making - things for the baby's room!  I've done some random crafty projects, and I made curtains this weekend.  I bought a plain white lamp shade that I want to paint something on, but I can't decide just yet.  It might have to wait until the rest of the room is more put together.

Baking - I haven't had a lot of cravings during pregnancy, but for the last week or so, I have just really wanted some cake, like a boring white cake with home-made buttercream frosting.  So I made one this weekend and it is delicious.  I hope that satisfies the craving for awhile, and I don't feel compelled to keep baking cakes!

  1. I know that making lists and keeping things organized really helps me deal with stress, because then I know that I'm at least doing something. So I can see how having a baby would really up your spreadsheet game! Are you planning to share any of your baby craft projects? I know I'd love to see them!

  3. I love your cardigan, and want it. It looks great paired with this dress! I don't recall you ever mentioning your baby spreadsheet, but now that you do, I'm not surprised? I'm so excited for you and baby. Give us a vegetable update soon?

  5. You have been nailing the maternity fashion, just for the record. And pregnancy dreams are no joke. That shit is bananas. It's like technicolor on crack. I keep wondering whether or not Jeff slipped some opium into my Smart Water.

    And now I want cake.

  6. I love this blog post idea. And you should go get yourself some cake. Here in my area (Dallas) it's a snow day and anything sweet is tempting! Hot cocoa maybe!

  7. Now that you say it, a white cake with buttercream frosting does sound really good. That's why I never could quite count anything as official pregnancy cravings... whenever someone mentioned ice cream or cake I would really want it, but that ALWAYS happens to me.

  8. Love this outfit first of all. Such a cute marsala dress. I have been forgetting to do these currently posts but I do love them. Looks like you are quite ready and organized for the baby to come. And please share the nursery with us when it is ready. It is funny that you mentioned cake because my Ill little princess wants cake badly this afternoon.
