Tights Season

Well, I had big dreams of avoiding tights until December, but I gave up without too much of a fight.  We had a cold spell last week and I didn't want to wear jeans every day, so I had to rummage through my tights to find a decent pair.  Apparently, I need to get restocked.  (get it? tight are stockings!)

Anyway, happy Monday and happy short work week!  My weekend was pretty good.  I went to see Elf the Musical on Friday evening with my MIL and SIL, which definitely got me in the mood for Christmas.

On Saturday, I went to see Catching Fire, which was fabulous.  Not so fabulous: the women sitting behind me.  They were the worst kind of movie-talkers.  (Warning, there's no real spoilers in these quotes, but you may want to avoid them if you don't already know what happens in the books.)  (And for the record, Gale and Peeta don't look at all alike, except for the fact that they are both white 20-something males.)  "Is that Peeta?"  "NO, it's Gale!"  "Wait, I thought he was dead?"  "No, why would you think that?"  "So, Peeta is dead?"  "No, I don't think so.  Maybe...  I'm not sure!"  UGH - STOP TALKING!

This is the last week of Take One, Pass It On.  My polka dot cardigan is making an appearance from Friday's post.  Make sure you check out Sarah and the other bloggers who are participating.

Cardigan: Old Navy
Chambray & Skirt: J.Crew factory

  1. You lasted a lot longer than I did without tights! Love the color of your skirt! And I am seeing the movie Saturday and can't wait!

  3. I can't wait to see Catching Fire! We are going to go tomorrow night. Movie talkers are quite annoying and if they are at the movie, how can they not know which one is Peeta and Gale?

This outfit is really cute! The polka dot cardigan looks so good with the bright skirt!

  4. Yeah I decided a few weeks ago that skirts/dresses with bare legs were just not an option for me anymore. Luckily I recently re"stocked" my tights and they fit me pretty well (I always seem to have problems with them being a little too short and driving me crazy). I really like your chambray + polka dot combo.

  5. Ah! I LOVED CATCHING FIRE. Seriously. For the entire movie, I was either crying or holding my breath. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time...and I can't stop thinking about it! Ah! And now it will be like 4 years until all the movies are done since they're splitting the last one into two! I'm not sure I'll be able to make it that long!!!

  7. Movie talkers are the worst! I rarely see movies in the theaters anymore for that very reason, which is sad because I love seeing movies on the big screen. I haven't had to break out the tights yet, but I know that day is coming. I love your bright skirt! Such a nice burst of color when the world is cold and gray. :)

  8. On the outfit... I LOVE the color of that skirt. It's perfect with polka dots, too. And I think it looks great with tights!

On Catching Fire... I want SO BADLY to go see it. But my husband wants to see it with me, and he just got back from his trip and is super jet lagged so it might be tomorrow before we do. I reread Hunger Games and Catching Fire and am now rereading Mockingjay because, well why not? I read the other two. I've heard so many great things, I can't wait to see it. Also, I wish it was socially acceptable to punch movie talkers.

  9. ugh, so rude. when will people learn? After spending the entire semester working on manners and morality, I would have to turn around and give them the eye. Or at least say "seriously?!" Anyway. I enjoyed your pun. And Target has some good quality tights.

  10. NOOOOOO! When someone is a move talker I straight up turn around and stare at them until they get the idea. I did NOT pay to have women not wikipedia the movie and find out who is who!!!
