This was my outfit for Mother's Day. And my annual outfit pictures downtown! Apparently we tend to park on the same street each year on Mother's Day!
This dress was recently rescued from the "Sewing Projects Pile." I bought it on a whim, and realized it was too short the first time I wore it. I thought about different ways to add some length, and ended up just adding about 4 inches of fabric to the middle of the lining. So now the lining hangs down and I feel much better about the length.
Jacket: J.Crew Factory

love how you add the extra fabric to the dress.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you picked! It looks really nice with the dress and I wouldn't have guessed it wasn't how you bought it!
ReplyDeleteCute! Nice job with the dress. It just looks like an extra little ruffle for the dress.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great DIY on the dress! it looks like a cute little addition, never would have known you had added the extra layer afterwards if I hadn't read that you did :) Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day :)

I really like the two-toned coral color...great fix!
ReplyDeleteLove the ombre effect you created with the hemline. And those flats are adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to add some extra fabric to the bottom of the dress to make it more wearable for you! I love the color, and it looks adorable with your denim jacket.
