#7 - Reciprocal

I don't remember a whole lot of specifics about middle school math class, but for some reason, I always think about reciprocals in the context of outfits.  You know, where 1/2 is the reciprocal of 2.  You just flip the top and the bottom.  This outfit is basically the reciprocal to this outfit.  Instead of a black skirt and red cardigan, I'm wearing red jeans and a black cardigan.  It's an easy way to remix.

See, Mom and Dad, your investments in my education were totally worth it!

Also, my hair is different in these pictures, because I braided it the night before.  So it's less curly and more like tiny waves.  Probably not something I will try again!

Shirt: J.Crew factory
Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: Old Navy
Boots: Steve Madden

  1. This is a great formula to remix your wardrobe. Switching out top/bottom definitely helps get more wear from your wardrobe. I am a sucker for red jeans so I love this outfit!

  2. If I like colors together, keeping the combo, but switching the pieces is a great way to mix it up! I really like that pattern on your top, too!

  3. We are always talking about outfit formula's but you've taken the style math to a whole new level! I never really thought of it like that! Love this outfit, I'm sporting red jeans and black cardi on the blog today too!

  4. I love the "reciprocal" look! Very fun way to switch up the look of an outfit. Do you have a close-up of the pattern of your shirt anywhere? I'd love to see it if you do!!
